I agree that it's better to leave Crusader as Redeemer is competing with Baal for the same niche and it will never win that.

Redeemer will stay, as it's an assaulty tank with flame weapons, combining two of the iconic roles of the Blood Angels (Tanks with flame weapons and an assault bias).

When the Blood Angels Codex comes out for Warhammer 40,000 (it's currently being worked on) I've no doubt that the Land Raider Redeemer will be their iconic vehicle in the same way that the Land Raider Crusader is emblematic of the Black Templars.

If forced to pick I'd go with the Redeemer as it matches well with the Baal Predator.

I don't think it hurts the list to have both available though.

I'd do the opposite as the redeemer matches the Baal, so putting the crusader in makes more difference in the list. Its not like the Blood Angels have a fire fetish.

Oh I see from the above they apparently do have a flame fetish (I thought that was salamanders with the BA liking assault and drinking blood, von! hahahaha, two! hahaha etc).

The tank is armed pretty much identically.

Baal Predator:
Twin Assault Cannon
2x Flame weapons

LR Redeemer:
Twin Assault Cannon
2x Flame weapons

The Redeemer is like the Baal's bigger brother, it simply fits thematically to use it.

Rug asked about availability of sniper rifles to BA scouts in the other thread.

I can't download the new BA codex here at work but in the older one Blood Angels had usual multi-option Marine Scouts unit limited to 0-1 - the rest had to be assault oriented.

That would suggest that the initial Marine list Sniper upgrade of one unit of +25 would actually be more fitting for Blood Angels than one for the whole formation.

So tougher and more fire! Not sure thats very blood angels, but then again I don't keep up with GW changes.

So if the BA are the fire loving chapter stick them both in, but if they are the assault loving chapter might be better off with the crusader.

Regardless making it an air assault tank is a big mistake.

Crusader is a terminator transport tank.

Everyone who has ever played Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels loves BA terminators. So please don't take the Crusader away from us :sulk:

I'm in favour of this ; I suspect the Sniper option might be going entirely from the BA Scouts in the new Codex.

Just have both in there! Make it more standard and have them balanced and working together. Even if others don't have the option in their particular marine list, for friendly play we can simply use them in there anyway, but it's good to have them balanced and tested together.

Devastators could be forbidden to take Furioso dreadnoughts.

While at the same time I'd like to be able to add a couple to a thunderhawking Death Company - it would be both effective (for a one shot wonder) and fluffy.
