Looks great and welcome to the forums!

Hope the scale and proportions are dead on the W40k model and not the mis-scaled epic one? Could you generally add more detail if possible please? - particularly in places like the headlights and the tracks - E&C's Malcador have shown you can have the tracks dead on to the W40k ones. Look at what Forge World managed to do with their Rhinos for example (the ones sadly only available with the Thunderhawk Transporter).

Personally I reckon there might be more market for sprues of spiky bits and tiny chaos add-ons, which people could use on their existing vehicles, rather than whole new vehicles.

Unfortunately I do not have a 40k model (and I do not want to buy one). If someone can give me some measures I could check if I can adapt it though ...

Regarding detail: More detail is always possible :)

I highly recommend buying/obtaining one to measure everything so it's as accurate as possible.

They're cheap, and should sell on for ~70% of its new value second hand on eBay (so not much lost).

You don't want it ending up the wrong size is all.

Another thing I'm currently thinking of: It might be possible to make a base variant, containg "holes" for the top door and front part as well es the side doors. This could lead us to:

Different parts to be put into e.g. cannons for non-ordered "Raubtier" Version (with guns) and/or different signs ...

Hmmm ... how different are they? How does it look on the table if we have also the standard one side by side? Personally I would rather stick to E:A scalings than having two different scales on the table...

The best way to do it is take a 40k scale one and divide all measurements by 5.

That's the way Forgeworld do it, and it's now the way Otterman & I do it.

Seconded the suggestion of getting hold of a real Rhino to use as a base - should be able to pick up a second-hand one from ebay and then sell it on again later. Definitely worth it for the little money lost!

Also, if someone could make and produce an excellent quality version of a truescale and well detailed ordered vehicle I could well buy 50+ to use and convert all my other marine tanks to use (I have most of a chapter but dislike the crappily scaled and not-actually-very-straight-lined rhino and vehicle models).

I'd hoped FW would - they already have one presumably truescale on the transporter they could have released - but they foolishly seem not to want to ignore this obvious plentiful sales opportunity.

Unless anyone else can sooner I could take a side-by side photo of the FW and Epic Rhinos next to each other when I'm home later (I'm guessing FW will be correctly scaled or at least close to - the best thing to do if you did want it correctly scaled would be to use a W40k model and divide measurements by 5). In reality Rhinos are thinner than the epic metal ones.

I know but I'm not convinced up to now - especially when thinking of titans I do not like the idea of having "true-scale" ones side by side to standard ones ...

However, one I get a comparison shot by GlynG or someone else I might reconsider :;):

Forgeworld intend to make truescale Titans to replace the old out-of-scale ones in about a year's time anyway.

EDIT:

Oh by the way welcome to the forum!!!!!! :))

The epic titans have always been at a different scale from the rest, as have all the non-FW aircraft.

With the epic 'nashorns' it wasn't that though; specialist games just copied the W40k model badly when sculpting them; resulting in wonky bits and bad internal proportions on the model. Not so badly that it doesn't look reminiscent, but if you compare a metal epic one to the W40k one or the FW epic one the difference is subtly noticeable and shows how much better the standard epic one could have been.

What's wrong with the newest Specialist Games Rhino?

apart from the horrid flash and mould lines in the recesses one ach side, nothing is wrong with it. I really love my rhinos (nashorns) but the STC was completely melted when it came to reproductions
