Ok, for this one I figured we could pair up 45 lbs of kid vs a couple of pork chops.  It was unfamiliar terrain for both armies and the kid won the first deployment roll and began immediately scrubbing the grill for the coming conflict.

The pork chops will be hitting a hot LZ but they might stand a chance against the inexperienced kid manning the grill.  In past games his tongs have been off by a wide margin and he hasn't managed to flip much of anything due to lack of skill.

The kid lays into the chops on the first round and they take a pasting, unable to avoid his massed fire.  There is still a chance that they might gain the initiative by being fumbled onto the pavement, but control of the game rests firmly within the kids hands.

The chops lose.  They had a bright spot where a potential flare-up could had burned the advancing forces of the kid, but the kid managed to push the chops into a salient and then avoid fire & hammer them until they were cooked solid.

Summary: kid > chops

God I've had a terrible thought of what would happen if Ginger tried to best a pair of chops with his famous luck (I sincerely hope the equivalent of half a dozen consecutive failed init roles isn't fatal!).

Shouldn't this thread be in the battle report forum?

Here's my contribution for tactical BBQ:

Grilled in a courtyard of an old Iraqi guard house near Baghdad.  We dined under camo net covered picnic tables of course.

:D

Here's my preparatory spice bombardment before the assault on the BBQ... paprika and chili powder dry rubbed pork ribs... MMMMMM... they turned out... EXCELLENT!

Oh i've been back for awhile but ate good there!  Used to enjoy a huge Turkish BBQ every weekend too, those guys knew how to BBQ!

Another great dry rub for meats is "Dillo Dust" from Larue Tactical.  With just a bit of fajita seasoning added.

What's in the Dillo Dust?  I checked their site and all I found were armadillo bottle openers. :vD

Tony Chachere's creole mix seems to find it's way into just about everything I do & I'm always looking to try out new rubs & marinades.

I'm not sue of all that is in Dillo Dust, but I can taste some celery salt in it.  There are lots of good dry rubs out there.

No big firefights this weekend, just a bit of maintenance on the Gargant Smokechuffa to get it up to speed for future conflicts and clean out the grots that fell into the worky bits on the last go.

Got a shot of a porcine torpedo roast including the kid for scale.  He still thinks I can't see him when he is in camoflage (hence the big grin)...

Gaunt's Ghosts should have had camo that good.

Rosemary, garlic, and good brining beforehand made for a solid roast after some slow cooking and apple wood.  I still think slow cooking/smoking is just an excuse to make you seem busy while you drink more beer, but it can't be a bad thing. :vD

End result came out great(even though it looks like a drop pod of Nurgle) and the Gargant is now primed for greater things!
