Ahem... Leman Russ IMO looks more like a MkIV with a turret than a WWII tank. I once tried to make it look more WWII vintage by drawing a Russ based on CharB1 but I never got around scratchbuilding it.
Then I hit upon an interesting idea: since all Imperial tanks are supposed to be from standard templates why not base it on the best looking Imperial tank (Baneblade)? A mini-baneblade would IMO be _really_ nice looking... Now, if only somebody with good skulpting skills would take the hint and produce one... Seekermeng

Remember the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade?
The tank they race in is very similar to those old-model Leman Russes...
Some quite nice miniatures on the Specialist pages. And many not quite so.
Warhound, Battlefortress and Deth Kopta I like. The IG weapon emplacements look as corny as they look in WH40K. Those troopers sure have A LOT of extra energy to carry those sandbags with them everywhere they go...And I'm rather divided about that Vanquisher and enclosed Basilisk. Is it just me or does that Basilisk's barrel look a bit...unfinished?

The trukks look small, but ok for a transport that only carrys 10 boyz. The battlefortress definately doesn't look like it could carry 40 boyz. I think Jervis was right orginally in having it desgined as a battlewagon that carried 20 boyz. I wish he hadn't changed it to a warengine :\

A new bombard?
An armoured Griffon?
It's just that the barrel doesn't look long enough to me... I'll guess we'll find out when the picture ends up on the fanatic site!
Cheers

Ooops, upon looking at the model a thrid time, I discover their is a long enough barrel, but is kinda obscured into the dark background...and it kinda looks blue as well.
Cheers
Chris
PS, does anyone know if Tuff painted any of these? I heard him say something about some Steel Legion tanks he had painted...

It probably is a Basilisk though I prefer the previous verion. Just an odd thought: Could it be something from the Death Korps of Krieg list??? (Off the top of my head they have some specialist type of artillery no?) ... though I admit that it is a bit odd to release models for that list allready...
Cheers

Indeed Tom, the FW Basilisk is very cool. I think I might get some for my (proposed) Steel Legion army, and say they are from a regimement that generally fights "off world" where the atmosphere isn't as corrosive as Armageddon.
Also, I remember talking to Jervis at Games Day and he mentioning he had commisioned a armoured Basilisk. This is obviously it! Who's betting the FW 40K scale version is VERY similar?
Cheers
Chris

Hi!
That "basilisk" looks a lot like the american mobile paladin artillery vehicle.
Not a bad looking model though.
