I bought the defence line thing (fortification lines with two bunkers, so I now have actual objectives)

The ruined Librarium thing;

Exactly what I would have suggested- I want them too! :p

Minor point, wahounds come 2 to a pack for ?18.....

Really?  The catalogue I have at home never mentioned it.  It made it sound like 1 for ?18.  I'll check out their website.  Not that it matters now.  :)

I have the defence line and the Librarium, they are really nice pieces for just adding something impressive to a battlefield and breaking up the city terrain of buildings and ruins. Well worth getting.

Its all already been ordered  :blush:

I thought about the cost afterwards, and realised I was charged postage on each individual item, rather than a standard cost like GW online store.  That's a bit poo.  :angry:

I had a look online at the catalogue, and it does say there that the warhounds are two to a pack.  I'm sure the catalogue I have, said nothing about it.  Probably a good job, as if I knew I got two warhounds, I would have ordered them too.  :-:

I got my stuff yesterday.

Upon opening the parcel I found the following;

In the defence line set I had been given two defence line bunkers, and no normal one.

3 of the Ork guntrukks had had their exhaust broken in transit.

The ruined Librarium had been sanded very poorly.  It resulted in it standing like the leaning tower of Piza.

I called Forgeworld, and as usual they were happy to help, here's the results;

They are sending the correct bunker, I get to keep the other!  :cool:

They were willing to replace the guntrukks, but I had already fixed them and didn't mind keeping them.  I was just making them aware how fragile they were.

They gave me a freepost address to send the ruined Librarium back to, and will send out a replacement.

So it's worked out okay.  I had a bit of a job repairing the trukks, as the exhausts are so small.  However, I do get an extra bunker out of it.  Though I do have to wait a bit longer for my Librarium.

Luckily, I dont mind having to wait, as I'm having a new central heating system fitted to my house.  So I wont get any painting etc in at all over the next few days.

that happened to mine (and I got mine at GamesDay)

They also happened to Carl Woodrow's check his site out

http://www.dropship.org.uk/epic/ea005.asp

You will see the middle Gunwagon has only one exhaust!

Yep, thats the part.  I had both exhausts snap off of 3 guntrukks.  Luckily they were still in the bag, so I could stick them back on.

It looks like he lost a bit of the ram too.  The one on the right (the green one) is missing the middle spike.  I had this happen to one of mine too, when removing that large cunk of resin that is attatched there.  It was the very last trukk too out of 6.  :L

...FW stuff is _very_ delicate- my Epic Night Spinners I got at GamesDay all had some of the prong thingys on the end of the guns broken off- I found most of them in the bag, but had to make a couple, which wasn't easy.. :L

As if the nay-sayers needed more fuel for their fires, Jervis posted this on the playtest forum.

GW US haven't set the release date for Epic yet. This is mainly my fault - I've been so busy doing the rules I haven't had the free time to speak to them about their release plans for the game. I think it is unlikely that Epic will be 'officialy' released in the US until the summer. However we should be able to sort something out that will allow people 'in the know' to order stuff from GWUS Mail Order from February. I'll let you know more about this as soon as I know more myself.

Best regards,

That sounds as if there will be the core, Swordwind (eldar), and the Nid release in about a 3 month period.  Sounds dodgy on the marketing side to me, but then I'm an amateur.

Opinions?

Also, news for the Aussies:

Grant is back from his trip back home to Oz, and has told me that the GW Australia team will shortly get in touch with me with a plan for the specialist games range that 'will make me happy'. He wouldn't go into details, but I will let you know what they are as soon as I have them. Before people get too exicted, I should say that I *don't* think this means that the range will be sold in stores in Australia and NZ, but I do think that they guys should have come up with a system that it makes it easier to get hold of specialist games product from Mail Order without having to pay too much for shipping. Anyway, more on this as soon as I know myself!

Best regards,

So, it should at least be tolerable.

Thanks for the intell again, Neal.  Well, I guess, I'd rather wait and get a better product than "a half-baked, rush job".  But at least he's "throwing us a fricking bone" (to quote Dr. Evil), by saying they'll release some models in Feb. (?) ...  And I guess, this fits into the comment I made on another thread here, where I said, I'd stand-by for the next change or release of E-A ... whichever comes first ... It appears we saw which came first ... I'll be standing by for more changes.  And after over 12 years of "Epicing", since SM1, I can say with confidence that G/W is as fickle as a school girl on prom night.  :;):

I was lucky and only one Falcon gun was broken and I repaired it with marginal ease.  And that is  good odds, considering I ordered one pack of each of the new F/W models !  But that is one thing you can say about the G/W metal models, although being generally thicker, they are more durable.   :L

Yes, I dont think I'll bother buying the FW Eldar vehicles.  I dont have any real problem with the Epic40K ones I already have.

I have plenty falcons, Wave Serpents, Night Spinners and Fire Prisms without needing to order any from them.  Besides, having two designs would only look out of place.  That's something you can get away with in an Ork army.  :p

Next on my list from forgeworld will be a pack of guntrukks with lobba, a pack with a kannon and maybe some warhounds.  Not for a while yet though.

FW stuff is always delicate, but adds a bit more variety to anyone's army. All I have from FW however is a set of Lightning fighters, which too ages to glue up!

I saw a guy in my GW the other day, who had gone to gamesday and bought a couple of Warhounds, he said they took him 3 days to just assemble due to all the flash!

Cheers

Chris

Thanks for the posting Neal!

Good news for NZ'ers, sounds like we may be able to order from OZ, rather than the UK or US :D
