A quick check shows that the travellodge near Euston (same distance as the halls or less) have some family rooms at £89 if people will share rooms. They have a double and a sofa bed in them. PremierTravelInn cost £106 and is also close. Both are for one night (Sat).

Most of the B&B's look to have a minimum 2 or 3 day requirement so you may find something cheaper.

Well, I am still hunting for cheap(ish) accomodation for one night, and it is possible that some 'locals' can provide a bed for the night. If many are affected, as a final alternative we can reduce it to two single day events as per last year to allow those who have to to get home.

Have to agree with kev that scaling back to 1 day tourney and 1 day gaming day - then sat tourney should still sell out again and locals+those who want to stay should provide a decent sunday turnout. You really need to decide one way or the other as soon as possible
Gavin for people to make it

I think it seems like a 1 day tourney would be more popular.

Certainly I'd prefer it, and I'd be enabled to bring one or two new guys along too (throwing them into a two-day tourney isn't so easy).

Gavin,

I usually prefer two day tournaments over one day; however with you not being able to book the halls of residence I think I would prefer a one day event too.

Thanks

Ginger, with only 5 weeks to go for this tournament I think a decision needs to be made about the format. People need to make plans.

Agreed Mephiston, and sorry for the delay.

Reluctantly I agree with those who have suggested two separate events, the Tournament on one day (Saturday unless there is a strong opinion otherwise), with a 'gaming' day on Sunday.

Following MoK's lead, I am really tempted to try making this a "Scenario" day, both to try out the scenarios, and to see if we can provide an alternative tournament setting.

See my thoughts in the Bristol winter warm-up.

What do you think guys?

Fine with me, I shall amend the info on Epic UK tonight.

Will it be £10 each day then Ginger?

Yes Mephiston £10 per day, (£10.50 if you use PayPal)

Sadly Tim may not be able to make it, but Joe and Dave have indicated they can, so we are potentially 17 for Saturday - but now I am going to need people to indicate which days they can come, so please get in contact to book the Sunday games ASAP.
