Well, now that the bulk of my travels for the year are done I've settled in with some light painting on several different projects.  Put the finishing touches on a Gladiator II for CAV, painted up some Silent Death fighters from start to finish to pull double duty for both SD and as fighters for my Andy in FWC (didn't like the "official" Andy fighters), started on some more SD fighters, still plugging away at my Pax Arcadians, and found an N-Scale modern office building for CAV (looks like it'll be around 18" tall when done).

The CAV and fighters are posted at my blog (link below) but the pics aren't very good.

KaJo, awesome job on everything, those aliens look great.

Thanks for the kind words on the camo.

The base coat is P3 Menoth White Base 3:1 paint to gunk.  If you prime in white, this will completely cover in 1-2 coats, depending on how dark you want it.

The green is new Reaper Pro Paint Greyed Olive, mixed 5:1.  This took like 3 coats for even coverage.

The brown is VMC US Tan Earth, thinned 3:1,two thin coats.

Then I wash the whole tank with a mix of Woodland scenic's black pigment, a bit of brown pigment, about 7 parts Matte medium, and enough water so it gets a bit runny.

Hm... I've been keeping an eye on those Woodland Scenics pigments for a long time... I think it may soon be time to give in and get me some...

Oh wow. That think is huge, but nice to see some properly scaled wargames buildings for a change. Does make those puny two story FW ruins look somewhat...erh... impotent...

Now that's a real skycrapper !
Good job :)

Still working on those pesky berserkers:

Too much details on the forgeworld upgrade kit.
They should be finished tommorow, and based on tuesday.

Well, no shiny skyscraper of glass or cool miniatures; but I have some progress on my DIY project:

I still have to add the grout and seal.  Hopefully I can have that done this week, work does get in the way.  I still have to finish the fireplace also; it is still WIP but what do you think?

Next weekend is the dining room!

nice work, if there's one thing I've learned about myself it's that I don't have the patience for tile work.

Having done enough tile work to appreciate the effort that's going into your project, I can give you a big  :agree: . How are your knees holding out?  :vD

Thanks guys; and my knees are fine - I have some armored knee pads that do just fine even if they are overkill.  It is quite a task though!

Is that fireplace truescale? I have neither the patience nor the capacity to do DIY.

D.
