Thanks Zap :)

An update: Reworked the shoulder slightly. HEad was adjusted slightly too. Also worked on the legs and feet and begun work on some kind of weapon.
As you can see he is a bit too tall (about 8mm but it isn't so bad when you compare to scouts or the SM or Chaos characters.

To be frank, a couple of bits might need just a leedle sharpening or cleaning.  At the top of the foot, for example.  Take a knife and scrape veery gently.

Otherwise, nice!  I particularly like the head.

Also: curses.  I need to start sculpting something quick because all the gaps are being plugged already.  :p

Yeah, and you were totally AWOL on the petite crabe unhappy head. No soup for you today!

Heya WMN, do we have any fluff on these guys? I was thinking of something like a semi-autonomous heavy construction exoskeleton. Some poor schmoe usually just rides along in case the expert systems start freaking out.

Then, whatever made the Edenite zombies kills the dudes inside, and some malefic software starts driving the exoskeleton+remains around. Then things get really unpleasant when they start manufacturing more of themselves, and sticking corpses inside.

It, er, had problems.  And I thought you were going with the other heads...

Eurgh.

What does that remind me of?  Cybermen, I think.

Thanks for the feedback :)
Agreed. Some cleaning is needed. For the time being I just wanted to get the basic shape down. Some things probably have to be reworked a bit to be thick enough to be castable, so some things will definitely change once the weapon is finished. I think it has been 2 or 3 years since I've last sculpted anything this small (except arms or hands on a few SM scout conversions) so I'm still trying to get my hands to shop shaking :D

Regarding the Edenite background: It is still a bit sketchy. Obviously it borrows some element from classic zombie movies :;):
I don't know if Tom has reworked anything, but last time we brainstormed a bit about it the idea was that Eden Pharmaceuticals were working on some kind of military bio-engineering project for the Guild to create "Super Soldiers". Obviously something went terribly wrong but I think Tom is still working on the full story.
Anyway, regarding the super soldiers: In the case of the skeletons the bio engineering would include some degree of cybernetics or implants (think a Wolverine from X-men sort of thing). Trouble is that the servo enhanced limbs would still be very much functional after death when the biological matter had decomposed. The skeleton retains some basic motor functions; stabilizers and targeting equipment still working but with only very limited AI.
I'm not sure if he ended up with the Edenites being controlled by someone (Mad scientist sort of type) or if the Edenites are autonomous.

First attempt at a weapon was a moderate failure. Obviously it is somewhat large, so I'll have to scale it down. Alternatively I may change the design by removing the piece of guitar string and go for a sleeker look.

Or just use the guitar string without the 'barrel'. I think a coily snub-nosed death hose would be dandy.

And, the weapons are supposed to be exaggerated.

Agreement.  Perhaps a slightly thinner piece of guitar wire, with partial casing sculpted around it.  That's the kind of thing I usually come up with anyway.  In projects that get no further than the drawing board...

But anyways, keep it up!

Are the putty parts of that gun 'sculpted' together, or individually shaped first?

Both actually. Because my sculpting skills aren't that good I prefer to carve pieces. I suppose that's something that comes from my experience with plasticard. I feel it gives me better control. So: For a weapon which is supposed to have sharp edfes I made a blob of GS/Miliput and stuck the barrels in there and waited for it to cure a bit. Then I cut most of it to shape. The piece overlapping the coil is a seperate piece I glued in place.

I am a cybernetic organism. Living tissue over exoskeleton.

I better publish that fluff really then... Randy did some kick ass art for them :D.
