Weird.

Thats the worst sort of bug to fix.  One that doesn't really make sense.

We could cut a little bit by linking all the lists rather than putting them on the server but then 100 people downloading a 150KB PDF isn't exactly a huge use of resources.

Good luck with the troubleshooting.

I have had really weird bugs before with adding quite small images in databases and ended up with stupid database replication issues that have resaulted in massive resource use from small little site logos.  I don't know if it could be something like that.

If it was you think it would happen to everyone using the same code system who jazzess up the appearance of their board.

Yeah. Just had contact from the web hosts to say that it doesnt look like this has fixed things at all.... although it does mean that it wasnt me messing with the colours that caused the problems in the first place.

The boards will stay active for a bit longer, but it looks like they will need to be closed again shortly.  :sigh:

The other boards I visit use phpBB. Is moving to another board app out of the question due to the database?

If the code is starting processes and not stopping it then there is a pretty significant error. I'd have a peek at anything that is writing files as those do have to be closed manually in a way that most other php/mySQL processes don't.
