Exactimundo. It's almost a question of "Why would you want use drop pods when you can teleport?".  :))

As far as I can see the disadvantages of drop-podding (preplotting particularly) remove the flexibilty which terminators need to be effective. I couldn't see myself ever using them in drop pods if teleportation was an option instead.

Just a note: In the current Codex Space Marines Terminators aren't allowed to use DropPods anymore.

Ya that change sucks. GW is so fraked up sometimes. I voted yes on this pole. Broke the stalemate!

It's a disadvantage to drop pod instead of teleporting but why not have the option? It is more fluffy for some chapters (like space wolves, or deathwing terminators deploying en masse).

I voted no to a literal interpretation of the question: Drop pods instead of teleport?  Never.  

Drop Pods or teleport?  That'd be fine (and sensible).

I think that drop podding termies would be just fine for the Space Wolves (even said so in their thread), but the current lists (and especially the main one) should not add this ability.
