This diorama and the dragon are great, congrats guys !

I've begun a leman russ, have a lot of things to test on that one.

Right now, working on the dozer blade: I've tried to make a realistic metal look with the airbrush, and will try to make it appear on the base color which will follow with maskol or another masking technique.

Wow... this thread is just bursting with awesomeness.... well done folks.

I've just spent the last hour going through the last couple of months -wowee!!!

Amongst others I'm loving your marines Vaaish, Onyx's superb dioramas, and all your stunning fantasy figs Mark - great work one and all.

Such a diversity of subjects is great to see and makes it really fun to pick random pages.

I've spent the weekend painting some rather fab spaceships which have been a lot of fun to come up with a scheme for. Sadly no pics as they are a little hush-hush for the moment but I daresay some of you will be snapping them up on release.  :;):

Painting models for someone else is a bit of a new one for me, but it is good to have a solid deadline, and it is helping me rediscover that therapeutic zen state you can drop into when painting; I've just been merrily painting away all day, catching up on Battlestar (I'm only on season 3 but by god its good! :p ), and enjoying some of the fantastic sci-fi season that BBC radio is putting on at the moment.

As soon as we have a nice bright day I'll try and get some pics of my recent stuff; some Necromunda beasties as well as a pair of titans I painted a while back and I think no-one has seen.
Keep up the inspirational workeveryone!

Cheers,
Gabe

Hehe, the girlfriend and I just finished the last episode of season three.  I got her hooked, I think I even heard her say frak in the kitchen the other day.  Now we need to get through the first half of season 4 so we can watch the final episodes that are taunting me on my DVR.

Got a care package from Otterman so I've been tinkering a bit with some terrain using his Frauenkirche components. I will post pics once it is done. Also I dug out my way old scratch built Mekboy Gargant and gave it an overhaul with some new gubbinz. A new pair of feet made it somewhat taller (almost as tall as a Slasha Gargant but I'll just assume it is the gargant of the chief mekboy leading the two smaller Mekboy Gargants into battle.

Working on a simple desert starter scheme using base colors plus a wash of Gryphonne Sepia for my Tallarn/Minervan tank corp. Think I'm going to head along with the bleached bone base.

Not bad!  The bronzed flesh doesn't look too bad either.

I'm not havin' a laugh, but have you tried desert yellow...?

Ugh. Desert Yellow covers very poorly indeed. I've been working on some "new generation" Knights forever with that stuff.

It looks good, though.

Yes... And almost got the same problem with Sand color from Vallejo Air.

This is the next installment in the kids army.  Painted for my daughters birthday tomorrow.

Very cool dragon, what's it from?

NM, found it:

  Well, if you're undercoating white...

Miniature Paints sand and Humbrol matt sand aren't an exact match, but are (obviously) sandy yellow colours.  Both cover fairly well, IIRC.  Just in case anyone's desperate for a sandy yellow with decent coverage.  Yeah...

I think you've seen one of these Warhounds ages ago, back before my sabbatical!

Here he is with his twin and much bigger brother; my fledgling cityfight titan legion, to go with an as-yet unbuilt IG force.
All models will be the new 'lucius' battletech stylee models, including some FW Reavers; horrible though they are I prefer the cohesive look this will give, and I reckon with a little creative cutting and sawing they might look more dynamic and exciting.

I currently have two more Warlords waiting to be built, but I want to think more about some conversions and ways to make them look different first, namely altering the legs to add a little more movement to the models.

These are some little Necromunda beasts; Ripper Jacks (the flying facehugger thingies) and some mutant rats.

I really like the character all these models have; they paint up beautifully and looks great.

I just have their Beastmaster and some Millasaurs to finish the gribbly little family now!

Cheers
Gabe

I would have, if I had any of it. I'm just trying to run off of the paints I have, without needing to go out and buy more. I do have sandy colored Vallejo air paints, but I'm using those for the 40k scale stuff, and don't want to break out the airbrush just yet for the Epic scaled stuff.

Stormseer: Absolutely awesome set of Titans you have there, you make me jealous as I look them over of your skill.
