Cool as always Onyx, especially the Zerkers.

I know people keep asking, but what in the hell is your client going to do with an army this large? And doesn't this project seem never-ending?

It has to get old after a while.

On another note I considered your problem with varnishing metallic painted models. You don't need furniture varnish, all you need is to use is two types of craft varnish. Spray the gloss on first, then the matte. It works just fine.  :)

Thanks Malakai.

I found a suitable solution to the varnishes a long time ago. I use matt Estapol furniture varnish (still has a very slight sheen so it doesn't spoil the metallic look) on the vehicles and Testors Dulcote on the infantry. No need for multiple layers (and increased costs on a project this big).

Hopefully, the end is in sight for this army and then its onto the other 7 armies sitting here waiting for me...  :sus:

I can understand the cost cutting part. But in the future you may want to re-consider the craft varnishes. For some reason when models are sprayed with gloss first and then the matte it maintains the luster of the metal without any of the sheen of the gloss.

Just a thought.

Anyway, I hope some of those future armies are for you and your wife! Having to hand over all of the miniatures you've put so much care and effort into has to be a real heart-breaker.

I only painted a few commissions in my day and everyone was hard to part with. I don't know how you do it!

The rate Onyx paints miniatures at he would have to buy a new house if he kept all of them :).

I have to admit though parting with miniatures I have painted tends to be a heart wrenching exercise for me.  Its the collector in me coming out.

The Warsmith was made by Mark_Logue and he did a brilliant job (I only painted it).

Right, 2 more trays finished. This is the last of the infantry from the 5th box. Only Titans, planes, Death Wheels and BFG space ships to go.
