Our first game was Humans (Nekiel) against Dwarves (Me) and came out to 24 points per side:

Humans had a battleship, 3 cruisers, 6 frigates.  Dwarves had a battleship, 3 heavy cruisers, 3 frigates.




Not much shooting to turn 1, mostly maneuvered.  The Humans like to stick close by!

Turn 2 brought casualties for both sides; Dwarves lost 2 frigates while the Humans lost a cruiser and one frigate.





The Human frigates receive the business end of the heavy cruisers in the form of battering rams a cannon fire.

Turn 3 ends with more ships sinking below the waves; Humans have lost 2 cruisers and 3 frigates while the Dwarves have lost all three frigates.




In the peak of the battle the Human battleship and remaining frigates face off against the Dwarven iron clad steamship:

The Dwarven heavy cruisers dispatch the last Human cruiser and steam their way to assist the battleship:

But the Dwarven battleship needs no assistance vanquishing the opposing battleship to Davey Jones Locker:

The remaining Human frigates set full sail and disengage as fast as possible.

Pretty comprehensive result for the Dwarves.  Do you think that's indicative of relative strengths of the fleet, or was is tactics/just favourable dice on the night?

It was my friend's first game of US, but the two of us play pretty tactical.  The Dwarf battleship was especially lethal that day though, as I was rolling 6's like they were going out of style.  The Dwarves are string shooters but their weakness is the slow movement.
