Actually, there were quite a lot of things that were broken about SM2...though the years tend to dull some of the pain . I think NE has fixed a whole bunch of the bad stuff and added so much more. It is a huge improvement, while staying true to the original.
I too would agree with the fact that NetEpic has improved upon the core rules of the game. Having said that however, since our small group has retained much of the original stats for bikes etc... with, I admit some changes here and there then how has anything been dulled by time?.. It seems that you are taking my views personally, and they have caused you to think of them as a slight. While I can understand your view don't you think you may have entrenched yourself?.. Are you sure you are taking a reasonable attitude?
You do keep banging on about unit compositions that make no sense . Can you cite a lot of examples so we can examine the cause of such distress? Obviously, yes... Perhaps you weren't listening properly at the time I was ...banging on. You will need to wait until tomorrow as it is almost 01.30hrs here and I'm off to bed. I will list them tomorrow.
On paper a lot of things look "annoying" or "not right". But a lot of this has years of testing behind it. Things are about right balance-wise now. It doesn't mean it can't be improved, but I would require playtest data to change it at this point. Some might say that a company like GW may have done their homework too before publication but we all know there were some problems with SM2 as there will be with any game system. How can you ask for playtesting examples when it sometimes seems only the party line is encouraged by some others here?.. I'm sorry if my suggesting ideas is proving troublesome but I thought new suggestions was the idea here?

Actually, I didn't take anything personally. I didn't write much of V5.0 or the versions before and have no vested interest in "holding the party line" as you put it. As I'm sure I've demonstrated on many occasions I'm more than happy to fix stuff that's broke, and am far from "entrenched". I think I'm pretty reasonable about it all too.
I do apologise if you feel slighted. I was just trying to draw out some specifics so we could discuss them, but I'm sorry if that caused offense.
