The chunky metal Mk.0/1s were never mass produced. The plastic Mk.1 Beetlebacks were as close as they got to metal Titans in W/D 108 ...  Another G/W oddity ...

Confusion... clarification request!.. please post L4 pics that accompany all such advice. The world is a strange place without this fact of life.

Great looking rebuild WMN. :agree:

Anyone know how many of those early Warlords escaped from GW?  Were they a special release, like a contest model, or the LE Stompas?

I'm not completely sure, but definitely no more than a few hundred...and most likely less than hundred.
AFAIK the metal models were made for inhouse playtesting of AT while the plastic models and moulds were being designed. The models themselves are fairly basic without very much detail, so I somehow doubt they were ever intended for release.

I've only ever seen 4 of these for sale on Ebay and I think Doug (the Boss of DRM) has one or two.

I didn't have a pic to post !  But again WMN came thru.  Great model WMN !  And I believe he is correct. They were not to be publically released and DRM Doug got a couple off eBay.  And to really muddy the waters ... they did the same with 2 Proto-type Gargants. Doug has a couple those too. The same as the  rare metal SM1 era Marines ... they did metal Ork Infantry and a metal version of the Ork SM1 Skull Battlewagon ... a pic of these are on the back cover of W/D #116.  These were never released either ... G/W ?!  Go figure ?!
