Does anyone play bloodbowl/like bloodbowl, why don't we have a bloodbowl section on here?

Yes, I do play it and I like it lot. One of the best games ever released. Blood bowl is perhaps not too popular on a bit scifi-historical oriented forum that it'll need own section. Do you play bb?

Me and my old time friends have a one league soon closing, and I'm second, only 3 pts behind and 2 games to go... :)

I play a fair bit of BB, but with talkbloodbowl, the SG site and the NAF site I think the community is well catered for already.

I agree

Blood Bowl has Talkbloodbowl, a massive Spanish version, and an Australian one as well (ausbowl). There is also Blood-Bowl.net and other resourse sites.

I like to keep epic and bloodbowl separate. I find that as an Aussie, I have 2 blood bowl sites (International and Aus based) and the same with Epic (this site and epiccampaign). I do not think I would contribute to a 3rd forum for BB on this site....

Could fit into the Fantasy section, strictly speaking. I guess a certain demand would be needed to get an independent Blood Bowl section.
Incidentally, I don't play the game but have 4 teams which I keep intending to paint - Empire, Norse, Chaos Dwarfs and Dark Elves.

Have 2.5 fully painted teams, and think the game is great, probably one of GW:s best in fact. Its nice to have a game where you can actually expect to play with all painted minis without putting an absurd amount of effort in to it.

Bloodbowl is one of those games that I am constantly on the verge of getting into. I have most of a metal Orc team, entirely unpainted, in a box somewhere. I had first edition and really liked it. If I could find the time and opponents, I would get into the game in a heartbeat - especially since a single team is not too tough to put together and paint.

As for a board, the usual rules apply. If someone PMs me with a request, and if there are enough threads already existing about it, I am happy to create a new board. I dont think that it would ever be the 'first place' for BB, but could be useful for members here.

I also agree that BB is well catered for, would enjoy discussing it's intricacies with the members of this forum aswell that's all.

If you want to play in London the best place is the ECBBL.

Then discuss it here!!

I have enjoyed playing Bloodbowl previously, above all when played as league at local gaming club. The good thing is you dont need to fork out too much money for a team of 16 figures. So it is relatively easy and cheap for a new player to get into.

But will there be sufficient posts of a Bloodbowl nature to justify separate section? I dont think so.

Why dont you start a Bloodbowl thread in this section? Maybe show pictures of your current team. Or discus tacics of your favourite team.

Cheers

James

Just thought I would chime in here and see if there is any more Bloodbowl discussions going on.

We have been playing a league since last December with our first final, Spike Cup, tomorrow night. We went straight to Semi Finals with Pro Elves(me) beating Nippons(humans) and facing Wood Elves in the finals who managed to fend off an aggressive Orc team - at 1 point there were only 4 elves on the pitch!

3 experienced coaches in our small league run 2 teams each to give more games. We randomly drew which teams would take part in the tournament and I picked my under developed Pro elves instead of my all beast Chaos team. They had their work cut out and have really racked up the Star Player points. I see the pro elves as a nuisance team with skills like side step and Nerves of steel frustrating the opponent and dipping out of tackle zones and generally messing with the other players.

I have a nice leaping catcher, a str 4 blitzer, a hail mary and accurate passers, a diving catch catcher and will most likely pick guard/fend/block sidestep for my line elves. I really want strip ball on some of them too.

Anyone else care to comment on Pro Elves or Bloodbowl in general?

D.

Well BB is hitting a natural low in my gaming circles. We ran 2 seasons of a league with various sucess and energies have run out.

My main team is Pro Elves, when they work its great but they are ready to fold at any moment.

I'm sure in 6 to 8 months time we will be ready for a revival.

I am surprised at this.

In Australia we appear to be having much of a resurgance.

The Australian Nationals just finished on the weekend and we had 72 coaches compete. That was up by about 20 or 22 from last year.

The Australian community is starting to make t-shirts, custom dice and minis that will all start to appear this year as well. You also have the PC game being released by Cyanide this year.

For all those interested, here is the latest vid: http://www.bloodbowl-game.com/videos/gob/

Bloodbowl is far from dead - in Australia at least.

I personally have 41 teams waiting to be painted up, so I am definitely going to be one that will push for Bloodbowl to be played just so I have not wasted my money   :p

Good team that is generally overlooked.

I took them to give myself a challenge against the bash teams. They are pretty light on any hitting power and their positionals are what will win them the game. Their catchers with NOS are just awesome. They will catch anything anywhere. If they get leap and dodge, then they can get out of most scraps as long as they are not 2-Dice blocked.

I love the side step on their blitzers. Hug the sidelines and then use the sidestep to mess with your opponent. Especially if he has Frenzy!

So far I have only played 2 games with Pro Elves and my team can be seen here: http://www.bloodbowl.com.au/dbl/caravanofcourage.html

As you can see, injuries are just a way of life in any Pro Elf team. Just be sure that injuries and deaths are on Linemen and not your positionals if you can help that.

Regards...

BB in the UK is still massive, just not in the small corner of Milton Keynes GW, cos I've stopped going and playing! I'm sure if another person wanted to get it up an running it may go somewhere, but the staff in the shop are no longer that dynamic.

My love for BB will return I'm sure, but my focus is on Epic and possibly FOG or impetus this year.
