I say it every year, but congrats to all who entered for raising the bar yet again.

Very nice work all round, and exceptional work by the two winners. Onyx & WMN - you're very deserved of the titles, and continue to be an awesome inspiration. Us painters are in debt to you   (closest I could find to a Bowing emoticon  :p )

Hehe, well if you ever decided to enter again, we'd be the ones doing the bowing here Paul :D

Thanks again everyone :) So many awsome entries this year, I'm a bit sad no more could be in the finals, as there were many great entries that could have made well deserved winners.

Van: I've cleared the mailbox. Can you send me the prize list so I can have a look and see if I can come up with some way that makes sure as many runners up as possible get their share :)

Congratulations to the winners!

However, I'm just wondering whether in the next epicomp each person should be limited to one entry per category. As it is several people with multiple entries have been competing againnst themselves.

I have to say, the winners were pretty awesome. Inspirational no less. In fact I think Warmaster Nice and Onyx should be judges next year rather than entrants, let us mere mortals stand a chance! Either that or give each user more than one vote- that way I might even get one or two!

Meanwhile, I guess we're all gonna have to try and pull out the stops for the next one. Cue table top of model parts and paint stained fingers...

Hehe. No worries. Real Life ™ priorities always come first :)

This is a tough one. I gotta say I'm most interested in the Raiders supplement to be honest. Problem is that a lot of the other categories are just Onyx and me competing against eaach other. Obviously Onyx should have first dibs on whatever of those prizes he's most interested in, but since he can still get only one prize the problem remains. I know it's a bit unorthodox, but how about we do it something like this (provided the prize donators agree):

I get the Raiders supplement for the Single Unit category.

Vaaish wins Battleforce

Onyx then get to choose between the War Engine, DRM, Open, and EW.

Olly got third place in both War Engine and single unit, so I feel he should have a choice between the prizes in at least the two categories I won: Open or EW

The still leaves two prizes (besides the conversion category).
Yorkie, Zombocom and Erik all got to the finals. I guess it would depend a bit on werther Onyx chooses the DRM prize or the War Engine. I'm not sure what would be a fair way to do this. I'm leaning towards Zombocom, since his win was in a two heat voting, but what to you think?

There's also the issue with Warpmasters nicely painted Greater Daemon that got shuffled between categories. Wouldn't it seem fair that he got the last price as a sort of compensation for the mixup?

Thoughts?

Cheers :)
Chris

I've already made my decision (DRM) and supplied it to Van via PM.

The prizes are :

- Open Catagory - A set of Space Zombie Terrain pieces, as produced by Otterman, plus shipping to the winner, kindly donated by a member who wishes to remain anonymous.

- Battleforce - The PRIZE for this category is a copy of the grand 'Raiders' supplement generously donated by Moscovian - I'm hoping he'll make it a signed copy!

- Single Model - The PRIZE for this category is a small mountain of space marine troops and 5 Dreadnoughts very generously donated by Duz Holger.

- War Engine - The PRIZE for this category is a collection of old school Eldar troops and bikes and 24 Falcons very generously donated by Duz Holger.

- SOW - $40 of Seeds of War products plus shipping from Micro World Games, donated by Steve from MWGames.

- EW - £25 of Exodus Wars models, including postage to the winner, donated by Netepic.

I think the winners should just make their choices and let the competition organisers sort the rest out.

Hehe, well if you ever decided to enter again, we'd be the ones doing the bowing here Paul :D

:vo LOL.

Thank you for the complement. However, whilst it may have been true that 5 years ago I was ahead of the game in terms of super-detailing 6mm models, I'm pleased to say that you lot on Tac-Coms have more than caught me up!

The models which are seen on here are quite regularly enough to give my Logan Grimnar a run for its money. Whilst I've bested him myself in the years since, it seems the general standards have come on in leaps and bounds whilst I've (to my own shame) stayed pretty much level.

Just one example is Olly's weathering. The Realism & detail eveident on the Thunderbolt in particular is something I am now working to perfect myself. I like a realistic finish, but I've never got anywhere like that level of it before in this scale, and its only seeing his work that's making me push myself in this new direction.

I stayed out of the competition for a couple of years as some people said they were dissuaded from entering if I was too. These days, I have no such fears, Just not the right projects to enter at the right time. That time will come however, I just hope I'm up to the challenge

There is one copy of Raiders left sitting on the shelf, waiting to be shipped.  It will be the 105th new copy of Raiders and the last one in stock (15 of the defective ones have also sold).  After that, anyone wanting one will have to wait until I can build up enough orders, which can take several weeks.

Let me know who I am shipping to, and congrats to all the winners and runner-ups.  Tough competition this year as always!  Of course I was a little bummed to see Zombo's Dark Eldar titan not win, but I might be a tad biased. :vD

Mosc and eveeryone, I'll be concluding the prize roundup asap - sorry for the delays but life got in the way as usual.

Meanwhile...

ANNOUNCEMENT:  :vD  :vD
The judges have come to a very rapid conclusion in deciding who to award the Conversion Competition 1st to, so may I thank Nealhunt and Cybershadow for assisting with the horrendously difficult decision.

The WINNER is: Nicodemus' Battlegroup Haisuli
Congrats Nico. This entry was chosen because (1) it included loads of conversions (2) which had character and (3) were in character; and (4) were not simple weapon changes, but sculpting of a whole lot of messy (Nurgley, see?) details.

  Oh, my... This was quite suprising!

Could I get some PDF Diploma or something I could print and put on my wall?

Winning something from EpicComp is such an honor, I have always considered EpiComp THE painting competition (hence I have participated with many models "every year"). So Thanks!
