Not mine, but I like the concept and thought it was worth sharing given all the Epic scale scratch builders out there...  :)

Thats a very nice figure.  Definitely has more of a modern Tyranid feel to it.  I would definitely to see an evolution on the current Epic figure.

Says Exocrine to me, but whatever it is, it's grand :) :) :)

Looks very cool, but much more an "Exocrine" to me...

I like it.

Agreed, looks more like an Exocrine.

I agree she is a beaut.

Though she is halfway between a dactylis and an exocrine for me.  She has exocrine guns but the elevation is too high.

Maybe it's resting between shots...

Awesome model.

It looks like a giant Biovore, which is about what it's supposed to be, rather than the "plucked chicken on its back, throwing eggs" of the Epic model.

I can see the Exocrine comments.  It has a lot of front shielding in a style that echoes the old Exo models and it has the classic biocannon silhouette to the gun, but the Epic scale Exocrine is pretty crawly and not quadroped like that model.

All that begs the question of what a new style Exocrine would look like?  The "armored slug" units like the Exocrine were all removed or redesigned in the new "snake standing on its tail" style, like the Rippers, Trygon and Malanthrope.

My thought would be that the Dactylis and Exocrine would share the same genus "chassis" with the only difference being the kind and orientation of the gun symbiotes.  And maybe a bit lighter armor on the Dactylis (more like biovores) in exchange for larger gun/ammo.

Now... would any be "rear-firing"...  :O

The Rippers and Trygons were always some kind of snake-beasts.

I expect the Dactylis to be pretty much a bigger Biovore. Like the one here in the picture but without the front shield.

An Exocrine would be more like a Barbed Hierodule/Carnifex mix.

EDIT: Ok the chart in Codey Tyranids shows the bio-tanks to be derived from the Ravener genus.
Zoantrophes, Biovores and Tyrant Guard have classified ancestors. IIRC in the previous Codex it said that Zoantrophes where made from Eldar genes, Biovores from Ork genes and Tyrant Guards from Space Marine genes :D
