Bayodude can't floss when his blade is attached to his lasgun - that's what Cadians use for floss, the sharp end of a bayonet!!  :laugh:

If I might suggest one final improvment - I would give a little more definition to the faces of the guardsmen's faces in the background, even if it is just shadows for eyes and cheeks.

Overall, it is a truly impressive piece, I too am astounded at the detail. My favourite bit somehow must be the Imperator although the lasgun is probably the most technically well-executed parts, it's very, well, real-looking!

I agree that I could have added more definition to the background dudes, it was something I was meaning to do but in the end I thought it wasn't needed.

I really enjoyed working on the Imperator - you don't see enough of them in GW's artwork!!  :cool:

I'm pretty happy with the lasgun too, I realised quite early on that his rifle was intrinsic in how the image came across.

Hi guys,

Here are a few pics that I've been working on that'd be good for the Black Crusade. They are only speed paints - the sniper took 1hr 45mins and the Black Legion took me 1hr.

It's a Chaos Decimator. I don't know exactly how I'm going to portay it - might do a close urban setting?

That would be cool... but don't forget the "spikes" and such...  *laugh*  As Decimators are "old" Chaos-twisted super-heavies.
