personally i don't play with unpainted armies ok when i play i normally have to supply both armies and i still haven't got time to paint my squats so off-course we play with those in unpainted state by i  always play with my painted SM or IG army and i would be fine with playing against and opponent with a unpainted army number 2 is the answer simple you cant make a company card or support card (ok i only play netepic)
as for nr 3 is best illustrated by my squats just could not resist that bargain for one complete squat army for 130£ unpainted of course
