The funniest thing I've heard happened not to me, but to a friend.  He had left the lid off a large tray of basing material in his basement.  He also forgot to close the basement door.  His cat went exploring in the basement and discovered a new "litter box".

Besides horrific hand wounds, my worst fail has been spilling a bottle of red gore on the dining room table.  Believe it or not, that incident did not end in divorce.

Next best was stumbling with a tray of freshly primed Ork vehicles.  Took hours to locate most of them and some of the Warbikes were never found. :sigh:

While pinning the wings on my Dark Eldar Executor, I pushed too hard and the pin went under my fingernail. :_(

I agree, I "felt" that one as I read it.  :oo:

Your woman put up with metal sawdust in the bed, but got all torqued up when you cut yourself?  That's just nuts.

She has her own sheets so I don't steal her blankets or get sand etc onto her blankets which makes her itchy.  Sawdust you can shake off and blood is a pain to wash.

Kind of hobby-related - I kept some of my tools in a long blister-pack kind of thing, and had them in a side pocket of my backpack/schoolbag.  When a uni lecture was done I reached down to pick up the bag, but it was caught on something.  I tugged a couple more times, then set the bag down to have a closer look.  Turns out the blister pack had popped open, the scalpel had jammed into and through the side of the pocket, and dug into my leg when I tried to lift the bag.

Funny thing, I never felt anything during or after.  Had to keep sitting for another ten minutes to stem the gush of red stuff, though.

Add to that all the usual pinning, cutting and paint-spilling escapades.

Not quite fair, this, but on the way home with a 40K Defiler and in a hurry to get to grips with it I crashed into a cement mixer. Well ok, he straddled into my lane, so not quite my fault, but I should've seen it coming.

It isn't my most painful experience modeling (the accelerant and superglue chem-burning my skin was far more painful) but I can tell you it was the most memorable.  There must be something about fingernail injuries that everyone seems to empathize with, not to mention they are inherently gruesome for whatever reason.

One of the most disturbing scenes from the movie "Stir of Echoes" is when the girl is being attacked and her fingernail snaps off as she is being dragged across the floor.  I remember thinking it odd at the time I was wincing about her fingernail more than her being beaten, which I knew was backwards.  Odd. :O

As you know, removing fingernails is a very useful kind of torture. :blues:
