20mins in so far. Any crits? Is the anatomy/pose OK?

Pose looks good, but I really think it'll be the look of the eyes that make/define the picture... looking out with determination, terror, or something else...

Now living in Boston... any EPIC players want to meet up?

Firstly, it looks really good. That foreshortening is awesome! I really like it.

In the interest of constructive criticism if you're going to be making this a big project:

- His face looks a little small/thin (or the helmet a bit big) and he kind of looks like he's enjoying a jog (slight smile there!). I think this would naturally fill out as you work on it, but that's how it looks now. I might be tempted to bring the head down, so that he has his face down as he charges forward. Maybe?
- His right leg seems a little off (see the insulting crap I've doodled on your picture below)
- The foreshortening of the weapon and arms suggests he's got his torso twisted, but his breastplate looks dead on (again, see my demented scribbles below). So his left shoulderpad should be larger than the right (actually, probably even larger than I've made it), plus his left hand could be a little further forward.



Overall, though, he's damn impressive (I've never been able to master foreshortening like that!). The proportions look great overall and the cloth looks excellent. And in 20mins? Crazy!

No problem Chroma - I'm sure it'll all be worth it when we all have another great fan-made book to peruse!  

I've been doing a lot more work on the face tonight.

- I've moved the leg to the side slightly, not straighten it though.

-I've twisted his torso more as you suggested, I can't believe I left his upper body facing us like that!    I'm going to have to do a tad more work to the shoulder pads methinks as they still are a little off.

Here's another WIP, total 30mins so far...

I like the perspective.

More progress last night. I had an iffy net connection though so I couldn't check any crits!



1hr 15mins so far. Still not happy with the shoulder pads

Hopefully the foot and shoulder pad are looking better now!?

Looking really good! Wow! The chestplate, belt and gun and legs look great and I love the foreshortening on the fingers.

I think the shoulderpads look really good. Perhaps a a little smaller still? Particularly on the foreshortened side?

He's pretty old scrawny, looking at the neck and jawline. If that's what you're going for, then that's fine. I think the top and back of his helmet could be a bit bigger too (the bottom where you've gone over it is fine).

Yeah, I think the shoulder pads are a lot better but still could do with some work. If I can't nail it on my next bought of work then I'll probably leave them as is.
