A highly subjective question, but I wonder what everyone rates as the greatest models of all time for epic?

My top 5 (in no particular order):
1. Eldar Phantom Titan- so elegant, yet so destructive!
2. Ork Gargant- the meatiest machine ever.
3. Khorne Daemon Engines
4. IG rough riders
5. Ork Squiggoths

1 Reaver titan : What other GW model have been in prodiction over 3 decades?

2 Phantom : Elegant timeless model. much like the Reaver

3: Mk 1 Shadowsword: It just looks so damn mean!

4: E40k Basilisk: Beautiful, detailed and well balanced.

5: Mk3 (TL era) Great Gargant: Detailed stompy goodness! Everything an Ork could wish for!

1. Eldar Phantom - just can't mess with perfection.

2. Exodite Tarradon Rider - I know they weren't officially released, but it is frikken awesome.

3. Lord of Battles - soooo much detail.

4. E:A version Scorpion - it's big like it should be, yet still sweeeeeet.

5. The Thousand Son CSM from the original Chaos sprue.

1. All Mk II plastic releases.
(It's after all what got most of us into this, and still forms the backbone.)

2. Leviathan!
(Regardless of that JJ can't use a kitchen scale...)

3. Imperial Guard super heavy tanks.
(Just the idea of making tanks that big and massive... Uh-uh.)

4. Imperial Warhound titan.
(Can't explain, have always liked it.)

5. Eldar Titans.
(Deadly sleekness.)

I think the original reavers/warhounds are still pretty awesome- not bettered in 3 decades.
But yes, GW did a pretty good job for most of those 2nd edition infantry. Just painting uop some Ogryns now- mean looking mothers.

I wonder, does anyone remember the metal infantry though? They would normally chuck one into a blister pack of something else- they were very chunky and not brilliantly proportioned, but at the time we all thought "wow"! Probably showing my age there...

Show off L4  :p Nicely done though, some excellent models there!  :)

My thoughts are

1 - Squat Cyclops - One huge gun, must be over compensating for something.

2 - Old Reaver - as everyone has said it's a defining model, much better looking than the new forgeworld version.

3 - Eldar Scorpion super heavy, so sleek, so much firepower..  Look exceptional when painted up, particually in Biel Tan colours.

4 -  Plastic Space Marines Dev, dunno why but I had an obsession with acquiring these chaps when I restarted...

5 - Epic 40K Baneblade, the one with the option to mount a storm bolter on the turret and loads of detail on them... Very nice models.

Does anyone think that now they've reimagined the Reaver, FW might have a go at doing the same in Epic scale as the current FW reavers are brutal looking.

Mine:
1. Newest SG Thunderhawk
2. FW Warhound
3. SG Warlord
4. Old Beetleback - so iconic
5. Ordinatii

D.

Exodites actually. Nice models, but horribly overpriced on Ebay these days if you can find them... now if "someone" would do a few 6mm dino riders with lasers... *cough EW/DRM cough* :p
