I've found a way to produce STL files on AutoCad, mind if i've a go at the sister?

Please do.

You only need panels for the prototype; The final production model can have a fully filled in middle, filled in by hand.

Good point.

The Forge World Stormsword has a volume of 18cc. Since the Warbarque and an imperial superheavy are both DC3, this should be the target size.

The Warbarque has proportions of approximately 1:1:2.5. Solving for the cube root, that means the final dimensions will be slightly under 2cm x 2cm x 5cm. 20cc will cost approximately $500 for a bronze investment cast.

If I panelize the design, and assume that the panels are about 4mm thick, this will create an internal hollow 1.2cm x 1.2cm x 4.2cm = 6cc, reducing the cost to $400.

3mm walls give a hollow of 1.4cm x 1.4cm x 4.4cm = 8.6cm, reducing the cost to $320.

Ugh.

I think this may be a job more suited for Jonluke?

...now, would you like a Centaur?  :;):

If we need some high resolution doo-dads to add, I could design and bronze those. Just sayin'.

Yes. Yes, I would.

Malika's buddy CELS sent me some Sketchup models from his Anargo Sector project, and I really liked his Manticore variant. Here's a picture:

While waiting for my computer to compile my massive (250K+ lines) Sentinel program, download into firmware, etc., I like to MoI.

I did the initial copy of the box launcher and felt that it seemed long. So, I experimentally shortened it so that it would have a lateral golden rectangle profile. Whatcha think?

I think it should be flatter as well. it seems like it's putting the vehicles center of mass up too high for transit. Perhaps more like the MLRS?

Hm. I may need to do my own variant then.

In the meantime, I should do this friendly project as CELS conceived and hook him up with Todd Boyce to do the bronze.

My ulterior motive is to switch him to MoI so the community can benefit from another MoI/STL designer.

Pretty much what I was thinking as well. Just make sure it doesn't end up looking like a whirlwind launcher on a chimera chassis :)

Maybe to give it more of a heavy MLRS-style missile-launcher feel, you can lengthen the chassis by two road wheels' worth, then carve out the back of the carrier so that the missile launcher closes down flush with the top deck.  Figure all you need in the main hull is room for the driver, the commander/gunner, and the engine.  Then, the launcher can raise and lower in the same manner as the MLRS and fire off its payload.  If it looks too rear-heavy, add a pair of outriggers on the back to steady it.

And here's the finished result. I tried to stay true to CELS' original design, even if I was a little skeptical about some parts. Various details and features had to be scaled or interpreted differently to account for limitations in 3D print at the 6mm scale.

Total volume is 4.7 cubic centimeters. To produce a bronze master would be approximately $140. A plastic master would probably be around $80, but won't have the resolution or durability of the bronze.

Edit - upon reflection,a good idea would be to make the missile tubes a separate piece, and have different insets containing different counts and styles of missiles.

The British pound is down to $1.60 US? Looks like it may be time to buy some source material from Forge World.
