Quote (CyberShadow @ 02 2003 Oct.,13:13) | Its just that I am sure that the Missile Launchers were not GW minis and I wondered where they were from. Are you a 40K player? I have been looking for an excuse to collect my Tyranid force in full. Interested in teaching me the rules? ? | Oh right, I thought you were asking what did I use them for, not what the minis are. They're built mainly out of parts from the old tank accessory sprue.
Its a Hunter killer missile launcher. The "chassis" is a cut-down bulldozer blad attachment, big wheels I had spare and I then added an axle with 3 bits of plastic rod. Pretty simple, but I like 'em
As for being a 40K player - I've played one game under the current rules so wouldnt exactly class myself as a veteran. However, it is REALLY simple, so if you're ever in my neck of the wodds, I'd be happy to give you an into game or two!

The missile launchers are cool. They remind me of the German "Puppchen".

The PSI titan is nearing deployment. The representatives of Divisio Telepathica confirmed today that the PSI titan "Sword of Faith" should join the forces of Titan Legion "Fireswords" this week.
"We only need to finish his chainfist, add Divisio and Legion banners and consecrate him by adding a purity seal" said Technomagus General Mojarnus Ego Maximus.

Lol, well bringing the thread off a GW related theme, I finished painting my I-Kore Prosthenes last night, I now can field a maxed out squad of them, have 14 models to choose from so can mix and match with pulse and gauss rifles.
I started work on my Tactical Teratosynths, trying to find a better solution for my Blood Red though - when painting over a black undercoat it has really poor coverage, needs about 5 coats to get it right and then it is hard to do it without losing detail, I have to apply very thin coats, is there a better way? White undercoat doesn't seem to fare any better .

Hey, would you mind taking a look on pics of my scratch-built Dread? They are on my Pbase gallery. If you want to see how Gideon (that's the name of the Dreadnought) looked before, take a look here.

Very nice work there- most impressive. What I dont understand though is why you scratched it to be the same as the kit one? Dont get me wrong, its brilliant work- but why not tun your hand to a different variant or something not available.
I guess its my modelling skill envy kicking in. Well Done from a Fellow DA player!

I could not afford the plastic one. 1 and 1/2 months of work, and et voila! (sp?) Dreadnought that people tend to mistake for the original!
Now I'm working on a 2nd one... much better one. Deathwing Dreadnought. With use of a large amount of metal plates and magnets, the arms will be exchangeable and might change elevation. Torso can be rotated on the waist, as there is no solid joint, just a peg made from a length of a round plastic frame and a metal plate around it, while the magnet is in the torso. And there is a top plate, where you can (magnets again) add or detach a banner pole or a smoke launcher. I'm planning to do some searchlight for the top hardpoint, and a _LOT_ of different weapon arms. I still need to decide on his name, though.

Work is progressing, thank the machine spirits! The ritual of Chainfist attachment was completed yesterday as well as the ritual of consecration and purity seal has been fastened. The Legio and Divisio banners are still being woven at the moment.
On a more serious note: does anybody know what font GW used in the AT -era legion banners for the text "Divisio Militaris"? Or is it a purely GW invanted font? Problem is, since the "Sword of Faith" is a PSI titan, the Divisio banner should obviously have text "Divisio Telepathica". I have had trouble trying to guess what the letters e, p, h and c look like. ?

Tactical Teratosynths, Prosthenes and Assault Teratosynths now finished.
Next job is my grav bikes, a cyclops grav tank, some more prothenes and my androsynths... then I guess I oughta do my characters, though there is no way I can match Pauls paint job of Pi with my own! - I am saving the marines for last as they are mere humans, not enhanced like the rest of my elite army .

Here is what I am currently working on:
1) A 3000pts Blood Angles detachment in Epic, made from some spares I have 2) 3 Warlord titans 3) Starting to assemble some IG based in Tunnelers
Painting my Ultramarines has stalled, I needed a break from painting blue! Plus I need a way to highlight them without loosing that Ultramarine blue colour...
Cheers
Chris

A couple of kustom gargants are comming along nicely in the mek's wurkshop. Also some IG artillery which need detailing. Just finished some Evil Sunz boyz and currently planned is a nice rusty old sccratch built Steam Gargant for my Feral Orks/Snakebites.
Cheers
