I just purchased 2 Void spinners and the back 'spoiler' part doesn't marry up at all with the hole for the turret. It looks like it comes from a different SHT - I kicked up a fuss and they checked and said that according to the picking system it is correct.

Is this a long standing issue or a new one that GW are denying?

Must be a long standing one Steve because I had the same problem when I bought mine - must be a  few years ago now.

At the time I thought it odd and like you that they had sent the backs for the wrong tanks, but as it could be fixed relatively easily (well with some cutting and filiing) I didnt really bother calling or think much more of it.

I hadn't noticed this before, but it is a problem that has apparently been around since the new EoVs were released.

I didn't notice it because I bought all my EoVs at the same time (I got 3 of each), and the cobra actually comes with an extra rear cowling piece that it doesn't need. That's because the cobra is armed with a shuriken cannon bit that is on the same sprue as the rear cowling from the Scorpion/Void Spinner.

So, if you are starting Eldar and you don't want to do any converting, just buy as many Cobras as you do Void Spinners, and you'll be okay.

Personally, I think the most annoying mispackaging is the 5 sprues of shining spear exarchs + 1 sprue of shining spears that come in the shining spear blister.
