I have all the Daemon models in my Chaos Forces, however I rarely ever used them.
Chaos started out as rebels with a possessed Leader - Horus. But other planets have become overrun by Chaos Cults throughout "history" too.
I see the whole Daemon thing as Aliens as opposed to the evil Demonic take.
Regardless, call me "old school", but I'd rather spend points on Preds and Land Raiders than Bloodletters, etc..
However, I like having options... ?
That being said, a Chaos Force with a lot of Daemons in the mix is different to fight than, a straight Chaos force without them. ?
It's a matter of taste, I guess, and whether or not you're possessed by Daemons yourself! ?

Well, in the same trade that I am getting all the tunnelers I posted in the trade forum, I will also receive 15 Silver Towers, so I may paint them up and use them as "counts as" preds and go ahead and field a Tzeentch-aligned force based on the BL list.
It's not the same, but actually goes back to the "old school" SM2-era version of TSons, so I can live with it.
Besides, it would be a blast to have 16 Towers (4 formations) floating across the board.

Neal,
You beat me out on that E-bay lot.
How much did you end up paying for them?
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
P.S. I really like your idea to use the Silver Towers as Predator proxies for a T-sons army. Cool thinking!
P.S.S. Was it you that was building a T-sons Imperator Titan?

$25 for the auction, but the shipping from Hong Kong... Yeesh!
Yes, I intend to build a Tzeentch Imperator and I have all the parts I think I will need (except a couple washers). It's the time now. It's fairly far back in the queue.
I was going to try to do it for the competition, but there are so many other things to do first...

What type of Epic unit that (probably?) didn't get into EpicA do you most miss? I know some of you play NetEpic so this won't be a problem, but for the Armageddon players? It doesn't have to be stuff that went MIA during the last transfer either, my choice (see below) didn't even make it into Epic40K!
For me, it's the Superheavy Stormhammer tank. I never figured out why this one disappeared. It still had its own niche - Stormhammer - close range anti-infantry - Baneblade - mid range all rounder - Shadowsword - long range anti-armour/titan - Stormblade - short range anti-armour/titan. It wasn't the right scale to be superceded by developments in Warhammer 40K and it fitted the background nicely.
I never got around to getting some when they were originally on sale, I'm just happy to have picked some up 2nd hand, painted (almost definitely ) by Paul Sawyer no less. Roll in the Imperial Guard!

Stormhammers are basically what got me into Epic. It was (really) old battle report IG vs Eldar. The Guard player was marching forward over the crest of a hill, while the eldar were making pop-up shots and probing attacks from amongst all the buildings on the other side of the board. The Stormhammers sat on the crest of the hill, taking loads of hits from a variety of things, dominating the battlefield (although not killing much) and slowly being crippled. Great game

I had a similar thing happen to me...in the open they didnt do much and got massacred by long range fire. ?Next game I got them into some ruins...talk about a prime unit for cleaning urban areas of unwanted enemy infantry!
I'm sure they are in the back there in the "OOP Models" list with the stats....

Hi!
I remember that battle report the Eldar were crushed!
I still have my legions of stormhammers, they are excellent for city battles and in close terrain. My favorite was the stormblade, which also got dropped, I loved those helion missiles, its the only tank that can take on a titan and have a chance to down the shields then destory it.

Well you can still get the Stormhammer & Stormblade from G/W US MO. And regardless of the G/W E-A party line, we Do Not let their rules, dictate what models are used on the board ! That being said, Jervis did a pretty good job, of making charts for old models for the IG, SM and Orks in E-A. But much work needs to be done ...

Hi!
Amen to that Legion4. I picked up a bunch of those FW models and they act according to the rules I use.
