So the SG site will disappear - that's not good. Just as well I spent the afternoon downloading it all...

Won't do a lot for new players, though. Growth is clearly not in the SG gameplan.

Thanks for the info, CS.

Regards,
Reaver

[quote="Bombot,May 22 2008,15:37"]If that were the plan then, well 'the plan', makes no sense at all. ?Why go to all the trouble of rearranging the setup just to have to delete it later?

Yes well that clearly wasn't 'the plan'.

BTW, I emailed Andy.  The omission of the chaos lists from the "Epic Resources" was an oversight.

As far as I am aware, E&C actually has it backwards. Goods in a store are not required to be sold at the price advertised, and that this is an 'initial bargaining position'. Goods in a window (and this includes websites as 'shop windows') should be sold at the price advertised. I would need to check this out, though, and there may be additional law and 'we reserve the right to alter prices' small print in the web sites themselves.

Two years of ignoring my law degree tells me I'm right, at least in English law.

It's all covered by the concept of 'invitation to treat', as I mentioned on the previous page.

Basically, until the moment money changes hands, there is no binding contract, and it's all (Technically) just negotiations.

E&C is right about the pirces though: I ordered some stuff and was charged more than was on my order reciept.

And that one's technically illegal. :)

They have to advise you of the full price at time of trade, and don't have the right to change that price once the contract has been formed, unless they have some really wacky clauses in their standard sales contract, and that additionally they can claim to have a reasonable belief that you were fully aware of those clauses.

IIRC GW reserves the right to change prices/incorrect pricing in the store. Werther that'd stand up according to Danish laws of marketing is a different matter.

It probably wouldn't, if you could be bothered to go to court for ?1. :)

So I was right, and all the articles are being lost. Great.

I'm not just talking from the point of view of Epic, since not many articles are needed to play, but for other games such as Necromunda it's a total disaster.

Anyway, I consulted with Andy regarding other material on the SG site. He has given me permission to quote his response...

All Online rulebooks and a selection of articles for each game will/are available on the new website and will remain so. The articles that haven't been ported across, well, people have had plenty of time to download them and if they're still haven't got hold of them there's no immediate plans to turn the Fanatic SG website off. In fact it'll be around for 4-6 months, so there's plenty of time to access that content.

Something like that should be posted on the SG website.

So how long is SG going to be down before it is 'up' again?

SG isn't going down and then up again.

Some articles will be ported across to the new SG area of the integrated GW website, and in 4-6 months the current SG website will have the lights turned off for the last time.

This was not the printed reciept you get with your package mind you, but the email order confirmation. So I suppose there's some difference between electronic and printed reciepts.

Not sure exactly what is the word of the law here, but I think it is pretty common that companies reserve the right for misprinted prices or to some degree price changes.

Especially when it comes to cross country e-trades the law get's murky. Where does the transaction take place? ON the webstore's server or on the customers computer or somewhere in between.

Hmmm.... I've been trying to access Specialist-Games.com all morning and it has been unaccessible - that's from two different computers in two different locations. ?Anyone else having a similar problem?

EDIT: Nevermind - I had to clear my cache and cookies and it took care of the problem.  Move along, there is nothing to see here...

I've logged onto it several times today, all fine.

Even downloaded and archived swordwind, just in case. :)

To quote myself from this morning:

Well, this explains why I got an error message when I tried to get on the SG forum yesterday.

All three of you from the other side of the pond?

It may be a country-specific serving issue.
