I think that everybody that brings an experimental army to the London Sunday should get 4 points even if just using proxies. lots of points and lots of people onto the score board.

While I sympathise with adding the "Experimental" day to the scores, I am not sure about the scores or proxied armies. The point being that, while we will generally adopt tournament procedures and swiss system etc, I will then be 'shuffling' to try to match those with "experimental" armies against those who have elected to use "official" ones. Also, it is possible that we may not actually complete the full set of three games on Sunday because of time constraints (travelling); both of ?which may bias the results somewhat. So here is the suggestion guys :-

1) We will add the battle scores if
? ? ? ?a) All players manage to complete 3x games on the day
? ? ? ?b) Each "experimental" army has had at least two games

2) People get the '4 points' for fielding a different army without proxies.

What do you think?? (BTW, there are 9 "Experimental" armies out of 17 entrants so far with 4 undecided)

I think I mentioned when you started off the 'championship' that there should be two leagues... one leage for 'pure' tournaments, and one league for tournaments that allow variant army lists.

The reason being that tournaments that allow variant army lists will distort the results of the pure tournaments, by there mere presence.

Not sure I entirely agree, though I understand the point. They will actually form quite a small percentage of the games played over the season, and will be playing "official" armies. Here are the maths:-

There are 10x competitions this year (unless I get another one sorted out), 5x of which are 2 day events, or about 45x games for anyone attending the lot. Of this up to 3x games may involve experimental armies. This represents ~7% of the battles played by a person. While I agree that this may have some effect on the statistics, I suggest that it will probably not be that dramatic.

I was only looking at the army itself as providing the +4pts as I don't think battle resultd would be worth pointing up if the experimental armies are still along way from completion.

2006 is done now too. I don't think I'll go back any further unless people want the old data logging.

Once the WPS CC is done I'll begin work on the database again.

Actually, I am not even sure that this is true either. Of the "experimental" armies present, ('Nids, Tau, Necron, Scions, Salamanders??) I suspect that only the Necrons may be considered out of balance, and then possibly not by much considering the latest batreps.

At present, the main question I have is regarding the 'Nid rules; which of the variations to employ - or do we allow the players to agree on the choice before each game??

After some effort, WPS CC scores have been added.
Andy H, your efforts and position are recognised here because painting and sportsmanship are not included in these scores.
:)

Sigh.....wish I knew that! The website is therefore showing incorrect information. I'll sort this later in the week.

Right, subject to Gavin's ratification of the scores the UK Championship site has been updated to include the results of London. I've not added any of the Sunday experimental games as everyone played a different number of games. Enjoy

Gavin, do you plan to update this page? I'll be adding Britcon results to the website this evening.

Yup

I intend to post both the London results and those from Britcon in the next few days. I also noted that there seemed to be some scoring irregularities, which I will re-check and then query with Matt.
