Hi!
Well, I think I am scapping the bottom of the barrel though, at 52 votes that prety much covers all the netepic "inner circle" people, It will be nice to see how many people vote beyond that.

So if you only count games played straight out of the box, not Hybrid or NetEpic, E-A beats all the rest (SM1, SM2, E40K) "hands-down", with E40K, the next highest with only 10 votes. Hopefully this is an indicator of some sort of success for E-A. But only time will tell ...

All very true, but we know a lot if not all NetEpic guys are on line and very involved. ?I'm just looking for indicators of E-A's successful evolution ... we all know NetEpic has a large following ... but how do the others stand up against each other ? ?We know that the Big Gun is going to win ... but without that "given", how do the others fare ? ?I was interested to see if E40K had a bigger following then E-A at this point ... and it clearly does not ... ?If NetEpic has more supporters than E-A, that may have little impact on G/W making new models, armies, etc. ?That is my point ... ?

Hi!
You bring a point which I have thought for some time regarding epic 40k followers. I think there is a tacit notion that Epic A will "absorb" epic 40k players. Dort or if you like epic 40k, you'll move to Epic A. I think that notion is erroneous. I think there is a significant amount of epic 40k fans who are quite happy with that game and have no intention of switching to Epic A, besides the initial "test". I dont know if that is good or bad for Epic A though, but something to keep in mind.
Overall, I think the poll really doesn't tell us much beyond that there are woefullly few epic fans out there. Thrity, 40 or 50 votes is not going to to keep the game afloat or give a useful gauge on how well it would do. IF the poll were in the thousands of responses with hundreds supporting the different alternatives than one could confidently extrapolate. The only real thing I gather from this "mini-poll" is that unless epic A attracts a "critical mass" of epic players to it, regardless of how good the rules may be, its not getting off the ground.

Well I saw it as a "straw poll", as the news networks do. From a small sampling you might get an indicator of what is going on at this time. ?However, as I said before, only time will tell. You on the other hand, you had a "vested" interest. ?I am just an "accidental tourist" !  ?I really don't care who plays what rules, I'm really interested in G/W & F/W producing models for Epic. ?That being said, I do believe that after "working" more with the system, the E-A rules have a lot going for them. ?But I'll never play it straight out of the box ... ?

I don't think that NetEPIC winning on an online poll will change GW policy, afterall NetEPIC will be creating rules for all the new units and requires more models than Epic:A so NetEPIC players are probably even more profitable for them .

While you have a point, I think the majority of people willing to play E-A will do so because it will hopefully be well supported.
I do think that there is a fringe of E-40k fans, but not too many who wouldn't play E-A because they are E-40k fans.
I like both NetEpic and SM-2/TL better, but I'll play E-A because it will have new models, rules and hopefully attract new players to the hobby.

My whole point on even bothering with the poll was to show that polls, very frequently, dont reflect reality. They are very easy to manipulate and to draw erroneous conclusion from them. I don't think ANY version can claim it is played more than another, stastically, the numbers are too low to draw those conclusions, also, I dont think the epic online presence is representative of the majority of epic players since they dont have online access nor express themselves on the forums. Only epic "hardcore" like us do it regularly.
The ONLY thing I can draw from the poll is that there aren't a whole lot of players out there. Think on the response a similar poll for 40k or fantasy would draw.
At least I'm excesizing my brain with a good intellectual debate on the subject!
