i as i mentioned some months ago i wanted to make a airport after long and hard conversations with my wife i dropped the idea of using forge world parts and began making the building from my bit box now it is almost ready i just need some paint to dry and give it the final pieces of detail work

i am not going to send a picture before the concrete paint has dried

here are the pics sorry for the under exposure but it 9 p.m. in DK and the sun is down my wife/"painting slave" has painted the markings on the runway and the metal lines in the tower.

will you use that as a terrain piece of the table (objective?) or as a showcase/side board to keep your air support on while not out on combat duty?

Oh ... well ... that makes sense ! :;): :D  I always figured all Strike Aircraft belonged to the Imperial Air Force or Imperail Navy ... And the SMs just called it in. But I'm not sure if that follows the G/W fluff ?

i have always thought SM has the own battle ships with own support fire-power and landing craft as a rapid response army

I'm not sure, but I have some AMT Star Wars X-Wings & Y-Wings with my Space Wolves, as proxy T-bolts and Lightenings !  So always DWWFY ! :)
