Yeah, thankfully the university has a great backup system where saved files are backed up every night and a master save is archived each week so its rare that you lose more than days work.  I had to really work at screwing this up in the manner I did.  Whats worse is that know a bit about how the system works really makes me aware of how dumb I was!

I don't lose a single file, I lose hundreds of gigabytes at a time (refer to infamous 1TB disk dropping incident).

How on earth did you loose 1Tb of disk?!  That must really have hurt.
