Hello everyone! (Again)
I have some issues with the chaos list I have to clarify before we go at it again. All help is appreciated.

1. Can one cram in daemons in transports such as rhinos or flyers? And if not, are plague towers the only vehicles able to transport daemons?

2. Can one use rhinos to transport non human infantry such as trolls or minotaurs?

3. Which daemon machines can actually use chaos cards to save them from destruction.

4. Can one use an arbitrary mix of chaos weapons and ordinary titan weapons on any chaos titan?

Thanks!

Johan

1. If you're talking about lessor Daemons then yes.  They are infantry class units so no probs there.  If you're talking Greater Deamons...then no.  They are Knight class....no way to cram them in anything other than a Plague Tower (or a Leviathan/CI I guess).

- Note, there is an optional rule to allow the carriage of Walker class units, counting them as 2.

2. Yup.

3. They would need the "that didn't hurt" ability, so only those that are also a Greater Daemon....Lord of Battles, Warp Palace, Altar of Slaanesh and Plague Tower.  Also Bubonis and I would have thought by extension Skylock.

4. Any mix you like as long as you pay for them.  The table in the Chaos book lists which titan can use what of the specific Chaos weapons, but the Warhound/Reaver/Warlords can use standard Imperial weapons too.  The nice thing is Chaos gets the Deathstorm which is way better than any Imperial equivalent!  :p

Thanks!
Now with the greater daemons, how do you do it? For example the Great unclean ones, they would never be able to actually be put into play with their move of 5cm. The Plague tower is a praetorian so the 15cm gives only a slight push, if it wants to unload (10cm).
This also a applies to the Bloodthirsters or Angron. Sure, they are CAF monsters but will never actually be able to attack anything until round three or four, when the game usually is over anyway.
The chaos army relies heavily on all out assault, so using greater daemons is not that great of an idea. Much better then to opt for boosted Warhound titans when swooping in for the close combat kill. I guess they could be put to use guarding captured objectives.
Has anyone considered that they could be transported by some of the other larger transports other than praetorians? Or maybe I?ve overlooked some nifty feature with the greater daemons. How do you use them?

/j

GOUs are useless....I've never seen a Chaos player take one.  The Plague Tower really isn't much good either, except as the 2nd choice for a GD if you decide to go Nurgle pure/primary.  It can be ok in urban terrain to storm buildings, and is the perfect transport for Minotaurs because of their detachment size.

If the majority of the objectives are near the centre then the Khorne GDs should be having some fun by turn 2.  Never underestimate the usefulness of the 10cm follow on move for the Bloodthirster....he is actually quite quick if you use him well.  You also use your really fast stuff to tie things up until the GDs can come and put the smack on.  Hounds and Juggernaughts and the scary triple charging Berserkers will all get into CC real fast.  The LoC is a speedy GD option too.

I would normally only go GD heavy with Tzeentch.  Magnus is a no-brainer, the LoC is a great flanker and the Warp Palace is better than it looks on paper.  I'll usually take DoomWings and a Prince too so I have lots of reward cards to save the GDs with.  If playing Nurgle I usually limit myself to Morty and Bubonis.  For Khorne, I always go 2+ LoBs and sometimes take a Bloodthirster....don't really rate Angron.  For Slaanesh I usually only take 1 GD as all of theirs are pretty weak.

Hi!

It really depends on what type of battle you play and if you use scenarios or not.

If you use a scenario where chaos can defend, a great unclean one can be almost impossible to shift from a defensive position.

In a regular battle, I use GUO's to defend close objectives or as a deterrent.
