The Warp Missile rules in TL 3.0.8 are a huge step backwards to the world of the early nineties and SM v 2, where we had various Unstoppable Forces versus various Unmovable Defenses.

The rules say the Warp Missile "ignores Shields and Powerfields". OK, as far as Void Shields and Ork Powerfields are concerned, but what about Eldar Holofields and Tau Deflector Shields. The Tau shields probably fall under "Shields", but the Eldar stuff is up in the air.

The simplest solution is to get rid of the Warp Missile, period.

I'd like to think that we can clarify our rules and keep them simple enough that irrisitable vs unmovable doesn't rear its ugly head.

In this case, I think changing the line to state 'Void Shields, Tau Shields and Power Fields' is simple enough... only those three would be ignored.

Eldar holofields act as an exception to the main game rules (They save against *everything*, even Volcano Cannons and Deathstrikes), so our Warp Missile shouldn't be able to trump the Eldar holofield rule.

I'm interested in hearing more thoughts on this.

I agree that the warp missile shouldn't ignore the holo field, since it is the titan hiding, rather than protection.

However I think the vortex missile should ignore holofields, since being a few meters to the left wont help you when your are being sucked into the warp.

Indeed I think the holo field should give less protection against barrage weapons in general, but that is another discussion.

As in the old days when you fired artillery at the wings to damage the Holofield generators?

Can of worms ... ok for a Titan game, leave it out of Epic.

What about particle shielding and shadowfields?

Good point, rpr.  The shadowfields are supposed to be a combo of Shadowfields  and Nightshields, diluted down to Epic scale.

Moscovian, I'd like your opinion on this one.

My point here is mainly that if we make special rules against specific things, whenever we add new things we have to think these things again - a bit like Lance is already not taken account in all new shield systems etc.

Scrap warp.
