In the first version of the Minervan list, the Stormhammer had something like the following loadout:

2x Twin Demolishers
4x Lascannons
4x Twin Heavy Bolters

This was based on me thinking 'Well, if it was re-made today, what would those sponsons hold?'

This loadout was unpopular as it was deemed to be overpowered.

What about taking that loadout above, but replacing the twin demolishers with 'snub battlecannons'.

Originally (In SM2) the Stormhammer had such a gun (A short-ranged battlecannon).

Stats would be something like:

Snub Battlecannon, Range 45cm, AP3+ / AT3+.

PS: Welcome to the forum Jonluke. :)

E&C, do you have an approximate date that the Minervan 1.7 will be ready?  Studderingdave and I have some games coming up and it would be good to play the most recent version (not to mention I'm just being my regular old impatient self :p)

sweet, good to see the new minervan list on the horizon. im just now getting my first few models in the mail, so it coincides perfectly.

im anxious to see stats for the stormhammer if they are to be included, wasnt the OG stormhammer something like:

twin bat cannon
twin demo cannon
4 lascannon
4 twin HB's

seem to remember a loadout similiar to this. for the sake of armgument i wouldnt mind seeing a snub bat cannon, matched with those demo cannons it would be a shorter range diety when it comes to crowd control.

now that bill has run me through a few games i starting to learn the rules a little bit.

Using version 1.6
Having now played a single game using the Minervan tank list I found it a little over-powered. Admittedly I fought an infantry heavy guard army, using seven super-heavies and 10 Leman Russ, plus an artillery company, but still I think the points values - certainly of the Leman Russ - need a very small upwards movement. Variants of Superheavy tank are certainly more useful in connection with eachother than multiples of Baneblades and Shadowswords, possibly up a cmp points value by 50?
Other than that I found a it a balanced list with enough limitations that my opponent would have a chance had he taken a more suited army list. I look forward to using this list again.

Cheers, thanks for the game Chaos and Evil. :p

They already have a discount in steel legion list... They really don't need more.

Sorry I didn't get the list up yesterday guys, I decided to play a game vs Jonluke instead.

That marks my first official playtest of this list, lol. :D

There's not really anything to explain...

There's a 40 point discount for the standard LR company in the Minervan list (compared to Steel Legion). They don't need anymore discount than that. Very simple maths.

I'm waiting to see the changes aswell. The Minervan list has been used here a few times in the last few weeks.

Although your excuse sounds very good to me E&C!
