Except the THT Heavy Bolters are configured to provide the firepower of all four weapons when firing fowards...

By my eye, it's two Twin Heavy Bolters fixed forwards, one left arc, and one right arc.

Notably, your THT stats are superior to the WYSIWYG stats when using their AA firepower, as instead of 1x AA shot (You would of course sneak your plane up and attack from a position where only one HB could fire), your THT would have 2x AA shots.

A flight of two THT's would have 4x AA shots, instead of 2...

Where do you get that? (That all four THT Heavy Bolters can fire forwards)

From the fact that all four are able to point forwards.

I'm not sure what your point is Hena... that 'people got things wrong in the past' so we should endeavour to introduce more confusion into the game system?

Sosistead og having two Hull Mounted Twin heavy Bolters and two Wing Mounted Twin Heavy Bolters the THT has four Wing Mounted Twin Heavy Bolters.

This would result in:
2 x Twin Heavy Bolter 15cm AP4+/AA5+ Right Fire Arc
2 x Twin Heavy Bolter 15cm AP4+/AA5+ Left Fire Arc

OR (if you abstract this to be 2 sets of Twinheavy Bolters always firing at the same target making them effectively Quad Heavy Bolters):
Quad Heavy Bolter 15cm AP3+/AA4+ Right Fire Arc
Quad Heavy Bolter 15cm AP3+/AA4+ Left Fire Arc

P.S. The rules i proposed in the first posting weren't only for Planetfall they should be used for Air-Assaults. That the can be used for Planetflal too is only a coincidence. :)

Two 15cm on each side arc were what I was running with as well.

Having read through this thread, I find that the real argument seems to be with the guns available to the THT, it's actual transport capabilities were ignored after the first few posts.

Because I can't see a fight without barreling in my opinion is:

The THT is mainly a transport craft, designed to slam into the middle of a combat zone (probably under intense fire) and safely drop it's cargo before returning to space. This is a mission the THT should be able to repeatedly achieve without suffering damage or ultimately destruction.
No matter how many heavy bolters the thing carries and where they're placed, it's never going to effectively damage a unit; even with the relatively much heavier fire-power of the Thunderhawk gunship, the single biggest use of it's weaponry is as a support to assault.
In a ground attack mission the THT can't clear swathes of infantry or shred enemy aircraft, I see the weapons as suppression fire and so a blast marker here or there is the only expected benefit.
Overall I vote WYSIWYG on the model to the stats.

Then disallow Interception, Ground Attack, Combat Air Patrol and Air Assault for the THT.
Yes this only leaves Transport as a viable action for the THT.
