Don't the Knights already do this?  I don't think that the Knights would allow serfs to ride around in machines similar to their own.  It's like in medieval times: only lords could ride horses.

E&C, I have a few questions:

How come the Warden has a critical hit effect if it has only 1 DC? Or is it supposed to have 2 DC?

Perhaps a better name for Serf Rabble could be Serf Levy? Do they have the same stats as Baran Siege infantry? I presume they do, but you haven't specifically stated it.

So that we have the stats all in one place, are you going to include the stats for the Blitzen and Goetterdammerung?

Overall, I like this list and anticipate taking it for a test drive in the near future.

Supposed to be 2DC iirc.

They wouldn't necessarily be Serfs operating them. To keep with the knight theme, you could say they are manned by Squires.

I like the list.

Just one complaint from my part and a minor one

I wouldn't call the Serf Trebuchet and Ballista formations as such.

Just because knights invoke a medieval character doesn't mean we have to go overboard. As discussed in previous threads *everything* imperial (except the imperial guard) is medieval in character (though the guard *is*  medieval in terms of it's religious attitudes.) These things map - but not toooo  closely to the real medeival world.
Witness how this mapping is done with Space 'Monks' and Space 'Nuns'.


So back to the arty. If these Serf arty formations used weapons that actually happened to be called ballista or trebuchet the the name would be fine. Otherwise "artillery" is sufficient.  We don't call any other imperial artillery formation ballista or trebuchet just to invoke medievalism.

A long rant for a minor point  

Other than that I love the list.

Oh, I don't see why aspirants have to ride horses either. Bikes or other personal transport vehicles would be just as good???

Of course, you could always invent new 40k weapons and call them Trebuchet and Ballista and use
actual G?tterd?mmerungs and Blitzen minis as proxies

Not sure if G?tterd?mmerungs and Blitzen as names fit anyway - if the army has a bit of a french bent. With Trebuchet being French and G?tterd?mmerung being german they kind of look odd together.

I'd rename them, maybe to something generic like Serf Field Artillery Battery and Serf Air Defense Battery. That way the name describes the unit's function.
