I want to hire some of you guys to scratchbuild some tanks for me, but the current exchange rate makes that difficult.

It's like, "Here, take a pile of US cash", and it's as though I'm offering you an old potato.

Well if the US economy gets any worse, we'll have to make payments using body parts ... :glare:

Well... as long as they're not too picky about who's they are L4... :;):

I can honestly say though I never thought I'd live to see the Canadian dollar reach parity with the greenback.

Weak dollar just sent oil prices higher too.  Then to add insult to injury OPEC decided yesterday to leave production alone until SEPTEMBER.  We're going to see $4.00 per gallon for the summer.

As for the Epic scene, I suppose it gives people a chance to buy things from the US quite cheaply, both US orders and on EBay.  I am surprised more people aren't taking advantage of it (Hena, I haven't forgotten you!!)

Well not to get too much into world economics, but the US's #1 "foreign" oil supplier is Canada at 17%, then South America at 11% then the Middle East at like 9 or 10% ... The Middle East plays heavily into the oil equation becuase many of our trading partners get their oil from the there ...  Solution - find alternate power sources for all and buy more Canadian Bacon, Moose and Deer meat ! :laugh:

To keep it on the gaming theme...  There was a game a few years back called Fallout which described the world going to war over fuel.  In the game the US "annexes" Canada and just takes the oil reserves.  You can see the US troops smiling and waving for the camera as they gun down civilians in the streets.  The video flashes the headline "US is welcomed by its neighbors to the north!"

It would not shock me if Canada became one of the wealthiest countries in the world if it opened those oil reserves.  It would also not shock me if Canada was INVADED for those oil reserves. :p

At least the things I sell can be bought at a reasonable price by you wealthy Europeans.

Cough! Wealthy you say? $4 for a gallon of gas still sounds like a bargain to me :p Besides food prices have taken a considerable hike in the past year due to increased prices on grain (Larger demand in the asian market + considerable ammounts of grain being used for bio-ethanol fuel rather than food.)
