Finished off a formation of Minotaurs for my Chaos army. Again ample use of washes: White basecoat, wash of thinned down scorched brown. Pick out details and wash with black ink.

I decided to go with a neutral color scheme so the units could be used with either Chaos faction without too much trouble.

Great looking Minotaurs, very classic look.

Another old project:
I never bothered to get any of the old TL era Chimera variants. Dodn't care too much for the Chimera miniature back then. However I though I needed to add these tanks to my Tech Guard army just for the sake of completeness. :D

Most are fairly simple.
(And I forgot which variant was called what, so bear with me :p )

Chimedon (missile variant) is just a standard E40k Chimera with Hunter Killer missile turret. Nothing special there.

Chimerro (Battle Cannon variant: I had some spare Hydra hulls left over from my Warmonger project so I decided to use these with a FW Conqueror turret added. Looks prett good I think. Very T34ish :D

Chimerax (quad autocannon variant) This is the tough one as no really suitable turret is easily available. I've trieed with Flakwagon guns but that didn't work very well. Right now I'm tinkering with guitar wire, to make the quad autocannon look more like a quad heavy stubber instead. This is extremely fiddly and doesn't look that great, so in the end I might have to sacrifice some Shooty Boyz for their guns.

Neat! I was wondering what you were going to do with those Conqueror turrets.

But what's on the gargant's head?

Yet another FW tank turret, with just a few slices of plastic tubing added for the eyes. I felt y old scratch build Mekboy Gargant was getting somewhat outdated, so I decided to give it an overhaul. Still quite a bit to do but it is getting there...slowly.

An old leftover that I though I'd better finish. Actually I'd forgot how much I like these old school MArauder Bombers. Much better than the current SG model IMO. Actually it'd be kind of cool if FW did a Marauder variant based on this model. I suppose it would be possible to bodge one together from a couple of FW Thunderbolts...

that would be cool, ive also been thinking it would be neat if f.w. released some of the fighters/bombers from B.F.G. in A.I. scale, ever think about trying to do any of those in epic scale ?
oh, and by the way, wsn't someone on these boards doing a blimp or zeppelin or somthin' ?? hmmm.. no can't remember, must have been a long time ago.

Looking at your scratch build Hydra attempt makes me want to find brass barrels. Or some sort of generic barrel assembly that I can cast and sell.

Maybe I should buy one of these.

In Warmaster's defense, this thread's title does clearly say "no Zeppelins."  :p

Nice thunderbolts !
The problem with forgeworld Aeronautica minis, it's that they're freaking huge :(
