ahhh back in munich and uploading pics of what I manage to get although there were a lot of battles in general from as many tables as I could. Unfortunately as I have got round to buy a better camera I was left with running around like a loony taking pics with a 1.3 camera.

here is the link until I get to speak to Tom about what we do with these.

http://netepic.org/DOUG/GAMESDAY

There are pics of epic stuff within that lot but like I say I was running around all over taking as much in as possible.

Tom, Paul like Chris I couldnt find you even though I didnt have acoach to catch so I ended up speaking to Jervis for a while.

Chris: I agree that I wasnt expecting you to look like you were. I dread to think what picture you conjured up for me  Anyway I enjoyed myself very much and FW were very good to make sure I got what I wanted!! No complaints there.  Still cannot believe the rush to buy stuff at the beginning!  My gf decided to sneek away and guard my purchases until I got back with more stuff and save all that barging through the crowds. What a girl  :D

Great to see you all, Jimbo shame we missed you....

So what models did you get your hands on Doug? I picked up some Epic Lightning fighters, and they are going to be a real bitch to get all the flash off.

The picture I had of you Doug was a smallish guy with a bald head...how wrong was I!

That day I was up at 4.30AM. When I got back I was tired enough, so I then went to a party and had 5 pints! When I finally fell into bed I had been awake 18 and a half hours. And I had a full day of college today...

Cheers

Chris

hahaha a baldy head! thats excellent!!
I couldnt say I am tall but a baldy head!! Being asian my hair grows faster than I can cut it  :p

As for the lightning fighters thats a shame, I didnt get that when I ordered them some time ago.

My day wasnt so hectic as yours. I had flown over on Friday and we had watched the new pirate film from Johnny Depp which I found great and then was gobsmacked when we got out around 11pm how the night life was buzzing not to mention some babes walking around showing legs and wearing high heels all over the place.  My eyes ached   }:)

Saturday had breakfast and wlaked over to find loads of people waiting and cheering. We were out that evening enjoying the night life and came back dinner time today.

My list was big due to making a big hit early and missing the rush on the 6th Oct.

I had the following sets

2* ork armoured gunwagons
2* ork gunwagons with lobbas
2 * ork gunwagons with kannons
2 * ork gunwagons with zzap guns
2 * wave serpent with shurikan cannons
2 * wave serpent with bright lances
2 * wave serpent with star cannons
2 * wave serpent with scatter lasers
2 * wave serpent with missile launchers
epic road set
some epic multi part marines
eldar pirate space station (I think thats what its called)
3 * epic harridan
mk IV grey knights dreadnought with missile launcher and autocannon MK IV version

I will be writing some stuff up for the above epic items as soon as possible and try painting them up as well.

2 of everything huh? oh good... so one of each will be coming my way then...
*attempts sweet innocent smile then gives up...*
Worth the try..... }:)

I got my hands on some more multi part marines (watch out for demonhunters squads from me in a couple of months time   ) and one of the Harridans (fab model - if I get time it'll be in the site's competition..).

One point on the harridans - watch out when you put them together. You need to leave smal amounts of what I thought was more flash in order for the joints to match up neatly. I'll include a better description in my review & painting article as soon as I get around to writing them!

Haha nice try Paul  :p

I got 2 sets cos I always like 2 squadrons of models based still on SM2 formation but I doubt that will matter for epic40k.

I havent venture yet on the multi part marines as I am not ready to play around with them just yet.

As for the tips on the Harridan I appreciate that as I would have surely cut off bits like you did. The Eldar vehicles didnt have any flash that I saw at first glance but I didnt look closely. The ork vehicles do though at the front and one has one of the points(spike) missing at the front and I cant find the part in the bag so I will have to make it out of green stuff

oh we did and it was good to meet up.

I was happy no photos were taken of us but portent.net had a group photo and even got Jervis holding up the portent.net sign and photographed.

It was kinda strange waiting like everyone else at the foot of the Space marine so I was resorting to asking everyone who there were.  I gave up in the end when everyone mostly said portent.

The FW Epic stuff does have a little flash I'm finding- the engines need a little 'peg' cutting off each of them- easy fortunately, and also on some of mine, there was a lump of flash between the engine and the main hull... my pin vice and small modelling knife were very handy indeed, and I still didn't manage to dig all of it out of the really tricky areas.. ?

-I'm still deciding what to do with my multi-part Marine I bought on a whim- maybe a little mini-diorama? ????

Stormseer,

I know haw that feels when you see flash all over the place and find it hard to get rid of.  I am finishing off some Tau devilfish and hammerheads and to be honest I was not 100% successful in getting rid of all the flash. At the back not every model was smooth and you can see where the cast was not always straight so the back hatch doesnt look like a circle but more a squashed egg. I tried to get it as good as possible but it is noticable. The other thing I hated about the devilfish was that where the engines join there is a line right across and it sometimes goes across the body. It can be sanded down but sometimes it takes the details away and so I leave it.

I havent checked out the Eldar vehicles yet but I will see what state they are in later this week. At a glance they seemed fine but like I say it was a glance. I could be cursing later on Friday or something  :;):

At least when I order my orks they are not expected to be perfectly formed - in fact might be able to pass of some of the flash as a design 'feature' :S.
