If this would be the case, then why I do I want that very non 25 increments to Tyranids?

Because you love to min-max your Dactylii ?

Honestly I have no idea, and I certainly have no idea why you claim to think that the Tyranid list is immune to 'non-25' min-maxing whilst simultaniously claiming that the Necron list is vulnerable to non-25 min-maxing.

You can have it one way or the other Hena; Please elucidate your true feelings on the matter and let us understand this paradox, or simply change your opinion vis-a-vis one list or the other.

Uh huh, prove it by actually engaging in the discourse then.

Ok Hena, fine.

Lets imagine a list with 4 units, 2 costing 25 points, 1 costing 40 and 1 costing 20

These are the possibilities for list building of 100 points:

(25 25 25 25) - 100p - (2x2x2x2) = 16 varients
((40 40 20) - 100p - (1x1x1) = 1 varient
( 40 20 20 20) - 100p - (1x1x1x1) = 1 varient
(20 20 20 20 20 ) - 100p - (1x1x1x1x1) = 1 varient
(25 25 40) - 90p - (2x2x1) = 4 varients
(40 25 20) - 85p - (1x2x1) = 2 varients
(20 20 20 25) - 85p - (1x1x1x2) = 2 varients
(20 20 25 25) - 90p - (1x1x2x2) = 4 varients
(25 25 25 20) - 95p - (2x2x2x1) = 8 varients

total - 39 varients.

Compare this to the list with 4 options of 25 points, which had 256 varients, or the list with two 40 point options and two 20 point options which had 56 varients.

Adding more non standard points options very clearly does NOT lead to more varients, hence not to minmaxing.

And because I have seen what happens when you disagree in these forums (you get lynched) I shall stop reading this topic so I wont get lynched again, just to have different opinion than some other.

OK. No-one is going to get lynched, and I am disappointed that even one person has this opinion of debate here (and even if you are the only person, I still recognise your right to think that!  :;): ). If people are 'lynched' because of a different, valid opinion then please report this to your favourite neighbourhood moderator, since this kind of action stiffles debate and goes against one of the main purposes of any board, and this one in particular.

I came close to shutting this down a couple of pages ago, but we have now crossed a line. I think that views have been put across, and nothing will be gained from continuing down this path. People just have different opinions.

So, I am closing this, and asking that if the topic comes up again (and I am not naive enough to think that it is gone forever at this point), we treat it as sensitive and explosive.

Thanks.
