Personally, I picture the MRL as being a kindof MIRV style weapon. Firing one really big long-range missile, which then splits into dozens (perhaps hundreds!) of smaller bomblets which fall over a large area as a kindof area-denial 'carpet bombing' attack. Multiple MRLs will fire 2 (or more) of these 'big' missiles in a large pattern, to allow maximum area damage with each missile. The idea of the MRLs as actually being a dozen or more missiles launched as one 'flight' always seemed a little odd to me (Though it does kinda work, just seems odd in terms of the whole 'BP weapon' effect.)

Well,
If we stick with the high-tech WW2 concept, then the MRL most probably looks something like the Russian Kaytushka..aka Stalin's Organ...or the German Neberwefer...both of which fired masses of unguided individual rockets.
The MLRS...multiple launch rocket system...functions very much like you envision MRL's functioning Illusyia ?

Yes, FOs/FSTs(Forward Observers/Fire Support Tms), Drones(like today's Predator or Global Hawk), Recon Sats, Space-borne observation (BFG Ships), etc. are abstracted into the rules. As Clauswitz said. [BTW, I posted pics of my abstract Drones, in my Peamamoonda thread last week ! ] Also IMO, the DRM rules do a great job with FA, Indirect Fire Spt. And the Carapace Landing Pad makes a great roof top outdoor sports bar !

And yes, I see an MRL functioning much like the MLRS. And the Deathstrike much like the Army's Tactical Advanced Missile System. But I got out in '90, so I'm basing that on what I see on the H.Chan. and read ... But it makes more sense to me then the Deathstrike being a FROG or SCUD ...
