Hi!

I've never seen one (but would love to if there is one). ?Its well descibed though in "Inquisitor" (titled "Draco" in second release).

In the original release entitled "inquisitor" there was a black and white drawing of the "scene" described.

Alas, I now longer have the original one, but if someone does a scan for "old times sake" would be greatly appreciated.

Primarch

Just checked mine...there is a pic, but not of the titan flanked archway described- its of the massive ornate inner gate, preceeded by thousands of battle honours from Imperial Chapters and Regiments.

Hi!

Thats the picture I remember, so its not the picture describing the actual gate with the titans....

Perhaps such a pictures doesn't exist.

Its still a great idea of a diorama though.

Yes, I was thinking of that same pic, a bit over-the-top for me. And I always thought some of the G/W artists needed therapy and should be on Meds ... ? }:)

Hi!

The art may be over the top, but it the kind of mental imagery that sticks. The 40k universe after all is all about exageration, so the heavy baroque drawing is consistent with that.

You also have to remember two points:

Firstly, the Imperium is actually in a state of decline. Technology is lost every day, and cannot be replaced. Designs and blueprints dont exist and so in many cases the older stuff is more reliable and efficient, with repairs being reduced to sacred oils and a quick chant and a kick.

This is in fact another case where GW contradicts its own fluff. They state that technology is lost when froge worlds get overrun, like the Vanquisher cannon, for example. Fine, except that they have also stated (and this is in NEW fluff, not RT era) that EVERY scrap of technology discovered is immediately uploaded to the high altar of technology in Mars, which acts as the repository of the mankind's technological knowledge.

So: how can technology be lost when it is all stored in Mars? Hmm?  ???  ???

I am sure the Adeptus Custodes must be genetically modified.

In the Horus Heresy game they had the best stats, the Blood Angels legion had something like Attack 10, Defence 9 whilst if I remember rightly the Custodes were Attack 14, Defence 14.

Not Exactly:

Custodes: Attack 7 Defense 14
Marines: Attack 11 Defense 10

So the Custodes are superior in defense, which can easily be attributed to arcane weaponry, different training (the Custodes are supposed to _defend_ while Marines form the spearhead of an assault) and just plain ol' fanaticism.

Remember guys, the G/W fluff can be whatever they want it to be ...  As I have said before, they take a lot from movies, TV and even history ... seen a good movie lately ... so have they ... Terminator, Predator, Last Chancers, Sly Marbo, etc., etc.  You don't have to look very far to see the tie-in ...  :;):

Delving back into the mists of time (and this thread), my opinon on the differing F/W pricing structure is this. The eldar models are all highly complex curved models while the Orks are very boxy. Therefore maybe the Eldar are harder to sculpt and cast than the Orks, hence the price disparity?

I would suspect it is more to do with the number of parts and the amount of resin.

From the looks of it, the Orks are one main mould and then ones for the weapons, whilst the Eldar look more complicated.

Hi!

The eldar vehicle does not look all that complicated to me, but it may well be. I'm not sure if straight lines or curves are a problem with modern casting techniques, it may be more related on casting the model in more than one part, thus making more expensive.

Well, I think that the pricing policy is partly based on the points cost - this is something that upsets the 40K players a lot. The average Eldar vessel is almost twice the points cost of an Ork, and so a player will buy half as many.

Obviously, GW deny this strategy, but it does seem to hold across a number of game systems.
