Hello! :)

Over the next few days I'm goign to paint a board for BFG, as well as making a couple of planets and some asteroid, for our Wargaming centre.

The only issue that is causing me to wonder is how I can seal the space board to protect the paint from getting scratched/worn off.  I was thinking of using watered down PVA, but the problem with this is that it would give the board an 'shiney' effect that won't look right.

Does anyone who's made boards for BFG have any advice conerning this?

Thanks for looking! :)

Try transparent contact paper, Firestorm, I applied that to an old, old board I'd painted years ago and it's still in minbt condition.

Floor varnish should be extremely durable. Give it a good coat and leave to dry. Then you could give it a thin coat of matte varnish (Preferably by spray) so it won't look shiney. Once done you should be able to play hockey on the thing without it getting scratched :D

I use a varnish intended for woodwork on boats for rivers and stuff. Takes a while to dry but I can't complain about the durability (or the price) of the stuff :D

Sounds good, is there a particular brand you'd recommend?
