My only thought on using these E/W half tracks for L&TD is that they look a bit too organized military for my tastes.

Thin plasticard goes a long way towards fixing that.  It's been working great so far for my Ork vehicles.

Changed my mind in the end, and instead I'm going with DRM, the Pax Arcadia light buggies. Imagine them like a Toyota Hilux in the Middle East or Africa.

Those wagons can transport 16 guys apparently (according to the BBC interviews with Taliban).

And we know from watching Top Gear that Toyota Hilux is pratcically indestrutcible. From memory they crashed it, hit it with wrecking ball, sunk it (off a causeway in Bristol Channel) and even collapsed off top storey of tower block that was being demolished.

And the engine still worked!!

Cheers

James

I decided to use GHQs Halftracks.

SdKfz 251/D 1
2-ton Opel Maultier

Personally the SdKfz 251 does n't look right. I could not look at it without thinking German WW2. But the Opel looks cool.

Cheers

Did you get any of these yet? How are they for size? Feasible to have two stands hanging off? (an image I like). Or is it a base them up 2 to a base job?

I believe they also set fire to it :)

I have the DRM and E/W Buggies ... IMO they'd be too small for 2 stands.  However the E/W Hoplon and a number of DRM AFVs would work well. I have a pack or 2 of all DRM & E/W ...              And I bet you could fit 16 Taliban bodies in a Toyota truck - you just have to stack them right !  :;):

I did get them, and they are small, but this is an abstraction, so I don't care..  :p

There's a few mods been done to make them lok different, and I'll try tonight to take some shots and put them up on the wiki pages tomorrow.

They did wreck it by making a boat out of it and sinking it ... :D

That was down to the incompetance of the driver. And second time around Clarkson even managed to get the Toybota to cross the English channel!!!

Any way back on topic would love to see how the E/W paint up in L&TD colours.

Cheers

James

How big is that L4? And where can you get it?

Im still not finding anything that is balancing out as flimsy enough AND big enough, but with the vast pile of metal I still have to paint I have deferred my decision

It's an old Micromachines, as I said, the USCM APC from the "ALIENS" movie ... It's about 60mm long and 20mm wide,  as big as a Baneblade. So it can carry 4 stands. :D
