I'd definitely support what Matt 'Rug' said - I'm just waiting for the next version before I concentrate on my Tau army

I too would like to see this list pushed forward as I have opponents (steve54 included) who have big Tau armies and want to not only use them in games without constantly book checking stats but also stop having to re-base or re-jig formations .

I would like to agree with the above. I have Tau waiting to be painted but want to get the list sorted before I start on them.
If we could have version 4.2.2 released then I would support the use of it in some of our tournaments. This limited exposure has certainly helped with the Nid list.

I think thats what we are going to suggest to 1Co Veterans - add Tau list to open war, leave rules as is for the moment.

I would think we would follow similar lines as with the nids ie. newest vault version or if that isn't updated newest version put forward here by the AC
