Sooo, what is so special about the terminators? looks like thay have the same stats as marines (Epic 40,000 stats). Just got in to this and been looking through the books trying to pick up on this game quick like. Also eyeballing the Armag. rules also.

the Detachment has me a bit confused to. What I really need to do is play out a game or two so the rules fall in to place. But I know of NO gamer in the Fort worth area...bummer.

Also were can I buy some of the newer epic models other than the GW site. Any other vendors?

besides Ebay

Well, in Epic: Armageddon, as compared to Tactical Marines:

- Their armour save is also 4+, but for Terminators it's re-rollable.

- They can Teleport.

- The have an extra attack in close combat, which ignores armour saves.

- They're awesome. :D

*digs out E40k rulebook to check*

The Terminators have the "save" special ability which makes them considerably tougher than regular marines. Other than that their weapon stats remain the same. This is where the abstraction level of E40k shines through: The actual difference of the Termies' armament compared to regular marines were considered insignificant compared to some of the much more powerfull weapons in the game. E:A takes a somewhat different apporach to this.

As for gamers: This site has an opponent finder area (I'm sure CS or someone else can provide you with a link :;):) Some may still play E40k but NetEpic and E:A seems to be the game systems of choice these days.

Unfortunately Specialist Games products are only sold from the online sture which makes finding an independent retailer somewhat of a pain. However ChaosOrc might have some E:A stock (though I'm not sure. I've traded with him before and can recommend his service :;):

Chaosorc carries lots of models, both OOP and modern, and he's based in the US (I've traded with him too)

Thanks guys...Looks like the E:A rules are more what I'm looking for.

I used to play Epic (Space Marine) back before Titan Legions. Epic and Man O War.

I had a significant Eldar force...anyways that was then...15yrs ago. :glare:

I'm back and a pure loyalist.

Hey Frogbones!  Terminators in EA also do not suffer from the negatives of being caught in a crossfire.

Welcome aboard, Frogbones. I'm always glad to see it when a veteran player returns.

I know of at least one member in the the Dallas area.
