I can't help wondering if the E:A ruleset could be adapted for historical stuff; and it shouldn't be too hard to do. Strip out the Aero section, the Warmachines, transports, AVs, and you'd have a very fast-playing, streamlined ruleset - I think I'll try it and see if it works! I feel a PDF coming on...

Regards,
Reaver

I'd be rather interested in an EA based ancients (or better, fantasy) 6mm ruleset.  I've been looking around for something not-Warmaster, but most alternatives seem unintuitive, usually over-complex for an occasional gamer, and not really focused on 6mm scale.  Not that I know that much about them really.

Anyway, EA's blast marker, system could work really well- I haven't seen anything similar used in anything else I've looked at yet either.

Aye, a WWII or modern warfare game like that would be awesome...

...atleast, until it means adding to my un-ending list of armies/models to paint...  :p

Hi Reaver,

Very impressive work!

Hi Reaver,

Very impressive!

If you're interested in selling it, I know the folks at several 6mm companies and can help hook you up.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hey Reaver, it REALLY looks like you

Guess what, Van, I just glanced at my Avatar and finally got the joke.... :p  I'm obviously running at bit slow this week.

6mm Spartan Land Raider Transport
Cool stuff, L4! I remember making one for 40K following an article in White Dwarf 130 or so... and now I feel old...

Thanks, Maksim! I'm certainly going to try and do some more 6mm historics and see if it goes anywhere. Probably not Greeks, though, there seems to be loads on the market - I'm thinking maybe saxons / vikings / normans - 1066 and all that.

It's funny, I played E:A recently, and remarked that it reminded me in many respects to Warmaster.  Warmaster are an excellent ruleset.  I think if you tinker with E:A, you will just end up with Warmaster, so why bother?

I quite like Warmaster too, Tertius - but it has a couple of bits I'm not keen on, and is also a bit complicated in places - not detailed, just complicated. And I really like the core Epic rules! So I going to see if they'll work for historic stuff with very, very few mods. It'll probably only be me and my kids that play it anyway, and only then if I can drag them away from the PlayStation!  :D

Thanks again for all the kinds words, everyone. When I get some more done, I'll post them here - unless they go wrong...
Regards,
Reaver

Er, why, don't you usually carry a shield and spear and helmet? :p :p
Warmaster, or Warmaster Ancients? They're not too bad, once you get used to them. Says I after a grand total of 2 games several years ago....
