I dislike the use of the AP column for MW Barrages.

I dislike it also.

Ok

I have modified the first post to cover the topices raised so far - please could we use different threads to discuss them rather than clutter up this thread.

So far, intermingling is generally "hard to accept" at least initially, while I think the others are more of an irritation

Are there any others?

So the only group left using the scout intermingling FAQ are tournament players as we have to use a common set of rules available to all players!

But, given the ground-swell of opinion, could the tournament players drop it as well (as this document would effectively be the single source used by all)?

It would be simple to add in the notes of the Cobra that it always uses the AP column of the BP chart.

I dislike the use of the AP column for MW Barrages. In our group we still use the comumn of what is actually under the template.

How many MW barrage weapons are there out there?

Marines - Orbital Bombardment
IG - Orbital Bombardment
Orks - Soopaguns (And Twin Soopaguns), Orbital Bombardment
Eldar - Cobra D-Cannon, Psychic Lance, Orbital Bombardment
Chaos - Decimator Cannon, Hellstrike Cannon, Hellmouth, Orbital Bombardment

I think it's the ignore cover on the Chaos weapons that make them so nasty with this rule change.

I'm pretty sure that AMTL has at least one MW barrage weapon.

Ignore cover is only relevant to AP targets mostly (I know some people do risk there AV's in woods!).

Not knowing the fluff behind the chaos weapons too well are they meant to be infantry killers or tank killers? If its infantry the ignore cover works well, if not then the MW barrage changes turns them into great all rounders and the cobra debate moves to another army!

Ah, I was just going with the "released" armies.

Actually, it's extremely relevant to Tyranids, as almost all their AVs are walkers as well, so they're often in cover, not to mention Ork Stompas and other walking machines... I often put Titans/Gargants into cover... or start artillery already in cover... since they're not going to move anyway!  *laugh*

I don't know if the Chaos weapons have ever been described or even talked about in any other GW publication... but they are definitely  "all-rounders" purely by the rules.

There apparantly was some fluff in the Epic40k rulebook on the Chaos Titan weapons, at least a quick google search suggests that.

Lexicanum.de has a little bit in german that describes the Hellstrike Cannon as launching a fuel-air explosive shell, something that would definitely affect vehicles and ignore whatever cover they are in.

Chaos weapon fluff can be found in the Adeptus Titanicus Box.
I can scan the pages if someone want them.

I'd take 'em!  *laugh*

But I thought the Decimator was created for Epic:A and hadn't appeared in anything else before.
