Welcome to another Forge World Newsletter,

Well the season of endless Games Days is almost over. We've flown all over the world but now we've returned home to do Games Day UK http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/gamesday2003.htm
Games Day UK is probably our biggest event and we have to take everyone who works for Forge World plus some able volunteers in order to cope. You'll be able to buy almost anything Forge World makes as we will try and have our entire
range there. If there is something you would like especially and can't bear the idea of not getting it then please send us a reservation order. We will be holding all reservations until 2pm so please pick them up by then. When you send us your reservation to forgeworld@games-workshop.co.uk please put "GAMESDAY UK RESERVATION" as your subject line, that way we won't miss it. After we have received it we will process your reservation and email you back with a
reservation number. Then at Games Day you can go to the reservation section of our sales stand, tell them your name and the number and they will fetch your order for you. The deadline for receiving your reservation order is 8th September by 5.30 pm.

As there is only two weeks until Games Day it must be time for us to sort out the tickets for the Forge World seminar again. The seminar will be by ticket only at 1:00pm and here's how to get yours. Send an email to
forgeworld@games-workshop.co.uk with "Seminar Ticket" as the title. We need your name and full postal address, as we shall be sending the tickets out to you. The tickets are limited to one per person and you must have already bought
your Games Day ticket and be coming to Games Day UK. The tickets are free but there are only a limited number and will be allocated on a first come first served basis so act quickly on receipt of this email. Good Luck!

Of course, one of the best things about Games Day is the chance to meet the sculptors and designers and ask them questions. The Forge World Designers area will be very near the Sales Stand and will have almost all the designers along
with their sketchpads and some models they are currently working on. You can see what they look like by following this link. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/designers.htm Don't be put off however, they really are quite pleasant to talk to.

Don't forget this year Forge World will be presenting their Best In Show award. This is an award presented by Forge World for our favourite Forge World model entered into the Golden Demon painting competition. The model must be either an Imperial Armour vehicle, aircraft or monster, or a Forge World
Warhammer Monster. It can either be a complete Forge World kit or a Games Workshop model with Forge World conversion pieces (eg. Whirlwind, Vanquisher, etc...). For more details check our Games Day page.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/gamesday2003.htm

So, onto the part you've all been waiting for. Pics of new models! First up we have the new Dragon. There have been some photos floating around the web for a while now but those were all work in progress shots. Now that it?€™s finished we have some new photo's of it to show you. I can honestly say this is probably the best dragon model I have ever seen and is certainly one of the biggest.
I've just measured it and it's approximately 8" from the base to the top of its wings and 13" from nose to rear. The tail then curls round to make its entire length considerably longer. But enough talking, here are the pictures.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/dragon.htm

We also have a new range of Imperial Guard defences, which have been made to coincide with the release of the new Imperial Guard Heavy Weapons teams.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/emplacements.htm  These make great looking defences to mount your heavy weapons in and add character to your force. These scenery pieces include battlefield detritus along with spare ammo boxes and power cells for the relevant weapons cast as part of the model. The base for the missilev launcher crew also has the lower torso for the prone crewman so that the position shown can be achieved.

All of the above items and those shown in recent newsletters are available to pre-order now on our on-line store.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html Just follow this link. Those of you attending Games Day UK will be happy to know that all these items should be available to buy on the day along with the new Imperial Armour Vol 1. We should hopefully have more new models coming in to the office throughout the week, so expect at least one more newsletter before Games Day UK.

Until next time,

Dean Winson

Is it just me or is this (on the Games day 2003 link above) is just a little ridiculous:
"MARS PATTERN WARHOUND TITAN ?275.00"

You can get a LOT of Epic for that price...even on Ebay

?275.00??!!!! That's truly ri-POOPING-diculous. I wonder how much plasticard I could buy with the money? Enough to make several Warhounds I believe... :O

if anybody is wondering, the models have been put into their categories and dont seem to be on the pre-orders page.... not sure why.

I phoned up and enquired about the models and the only thing that seems doubtful at the moment is the epic harridan, no one is sure if they will be ready at all for gamesday.  Although this could change later.... at least thats what I have been told this morning.

I hope all the new Epic models we saw a few weeks ago, are available soon. Maybe after G-Day? ?

But who knows? ?

G/W & F/W are more fickle than a teenage girl at Prom time! }:)

I noticed that too. I wonder if they'll ever learn to maintain prices "constant" within a line... :{

the prices are a bit strange but then again maybe its because they are thinking theres more resin  ???

As for the models being available, I was told they should be.... they just have a rush for the gamesday thats all, otherwise its the 6th October release at stated in the newsletter and on the site itself   :)

What worries me is that they are setting the prices for the "new epic" at 7 pounds sterling which is roughly $11.20 or so which is ridiculously high. They seem to not want to learn that too high a price means poor sales.

Yeah but remember the original philosophy for EA minis was to sell them in formation packs too...I dont think the current price for a blister of minis either reflects the EWA marketing plan or the price...

But then again who know what the hell they are doing... ???

Hi!

I hope you are right, but I have the nagging suspicion that there will be a very nasty "price hike" associated with the new blisters.

We'll see.

if they go by the way warmaster is going then we should be alright, so I will remain hopeful. :D

Dont forget that forgeworld are more collectors items than the normal models when dealing with Epic. I know that the Tau were but some of the prices would reflect that sort of thinking, as well as the high quality :p

Yet another newsletter! ?:)

**********************************************

Welcome to another Forge World Newsletter,

Games Day UK is fast approaching and everyone is very busy here in Forge World.
The reservation orders are being processed so we'll start sending everyone their number next week. If you still want to reserve anything please be quick as we stop taking reservations at 5.30 pm Monday. The address to send your orders to is forgeworld@games-workshop.co.uk ?
We've been inundated with requests for Forge World Seminar tickets and many have had the words "I know I've left it a bit late" Well the good news is that because we aren't sharing the Seminar this year we can fit a lot more people in than previous years. This actually means that we still have a few
left. There are only about 10 or 12 though so if you still want one but thought it was too late, give us a try anyway, you never know. Please put SEMINAR TICKET in the subject line so that we can spot them easily.

So, onto the main reason for today's Newsletter!! models! First up we have some more pics of the Dragon http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/dragon.htm
These have just been taken and are of the painted model. The colours certainly bring the model to life.

Next up we have three new Dreadnoughts. These are MKIV Dreadnoughts, a design used extensively during the Horus Heresy. The sharp eyed amongst you will undoubtedly notice the similarities between these and the Chaos Dreadnoughts. As the vast majority of the Chaos Dreadnoughts actually date back to the Horus Heresy they are undoubtedly twisted parodies of these glorious machines. The first Dreadnought we have to show you is the standard MKIV Dreadnought
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/phdread.htm This Dreadnought can easily be used in any Space Marine Chapter. The Second is a MKIV Grey Knights Dreadnought
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/phgkdread.htm The Grey Knights have many of these ancient machines and frequently field them alongside the more common Dreadnought
patterns. The final Dreadnought we have to show you is our MKIV Venerable Dreadnought http://forgeworld.co.uk/phvendread.htm Venerable Dreadnoughts are some of the oldest machines available to a Space Marine Chapter and the Chapters Techmarines and Artisans have lavished great amounts of time and effort in
keeping these ancient machines prepped and ready for war. All these Dreadnoughts can be equipped with new designs of all the usual Dreadnought weapons.

To further ingratiate ourselves with Marine players out there we have the first of our Space Marine Symbol packs. Due to the success of our Purity Seal packs and in no small part due to the horrendous amount of emails we get asking for
loyalist Dreadnoughts we have done these.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/smsymbols.htm So far we have done Space Wolf, Black Templar and Ultramarine symbol packs. We will be doing more soon. These symbols
are intended for use on Dreadnoughts and other Space Marine vehicles, however they would also look great on scenery pieces or anything else you can think of.

Now for the thing you've all been waiting for. The new Chaos Warhound Titan.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/chaostitan.htm This twisted monstrosity of a machine would take pride of place in any Chaos Warmaster's forces. This once proud machine is now corrupted beyond all salvation, from the armour corroded by time and marked by Chaos to the shattered and possessed remains of the crew, the detail in this model is astounding. I for one would have had nightmares if it had been me sculpting this model.

Our Pre-order page has been updated once again
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html All the items shown above should also be appearing shortly. If you were looking for something and it wasn't there last time, please check again. We are constantly adding items that you have seen recently in newsletters, so if it still isn't there, give us another day and check back again. Most recently added are the Epic Harridan, BFG Eldar Spire and the new Land Raider.

Also updated onto our website are some new PDF files. We have a PDF version of our latest catalogue supplement showing the latest models and their prices.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/PDF/catalogue.pdf ?This is quite a large file so please give the pictures time to load. ?We also have a PDF order form
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Forgeworld- ... erform.pdf ?so if you know what you want at Games Day, just fill in this form and hand it over on the day, one of our staff will then fetch your models for you. If you are going to Games Day UK then check out our Games Day page as we've added new things to it. http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/gamesday2003.htm

Well that's it for this newsletter, until next time
